Introducing the 2023 Card Design Superstars: Clean & Simple Genius

This is it. The final round of 2023 Card Design Superstar winners. Join us as we celebrate the accomplishments of our amazing Clean & Sinple Geniuses.

When choosing our winners, we were looking for cards using My Favorite Things supplies that embodied the following characteristics:

• Great design
• Superb execution
• Clever uses of our product
• Fresh approaches

As a reminder, we have five $250 winners from each category, and one randomly selected $100 winner. All of our winners will be emailed at the conclusion of announcements on Sunday regarding their prizes. Congratulations to you all.

Without further ado, meet your 2023 Clean & Simple Genius Card Design Superstars! 

Clean & Simple Genius

WHAT WE LOVE:

What's the buzz? The 2023 Superstars! We're kicking off our final day of Superstar announcements with this sweet card from Aiysha. Honey-dipped letters form an irresistible term of endearment with the "O" replaced with an adorable fat round bee body. Details really matter when it comes to a successful clean & simple design and Aiysha's attention in crafting those honey letter toppers, even going so far as to create some honey hair for her "O" bee, make her a Superstar!

WHAT WE LOVE:

If you notice a trend in this year's CAS winners...we have, too! Paying attention to highlighting the sentiment is key. Alex's winning entry is all sentiment, but with an intriguing twist — each letter is built with a series of crafty tools and accessories! Judges loved the precision and rainbow color palette, and are so proud of the way MFT products were spotlighted. For all of these reasons, Alex is a clear Superstar.

WHAT WE LOVE:

A single stamped image and sentiment can become the starting point for so much more. Judges were so impressed by Chiara's rolling waves of color — just look at the depth she was able to achieve with a small handful of colored pencils! Those waves provide movement and interest and a means of grounding her image — just stunning! It's pretty clear that Chiara's eye for design makes her a Superstar.

WHAT WE LOVE:

Clean and simple design often relies on making the most with a limited selection of supplies and Laura's project exemplifies that technique. Just look at the impact some well-placed ink blending can have! Her design provides plenty of resting space for your eye while still feeling balanced — difficult to do when a design like this can often feel top heavy! Laura's precision and restraint make her an obvious Superstar choice.

WHAT WE LOVE:

Birthday's should be joyous occasions and with a card like Nina's, you can't help but experience joy. Her exuberant raccoon is an obvious pick for substituting for the "A" in HAPPY. Not only does it add excitement to her stamped sentiment but the raccoon's tail also provides a natural starting point for the BIRTHDAY placement. A sprinkle of color coordinating confetti is the perfect finishing touch. An eye for alignment and color combine to make Nina a Superstar!
