Today's Designer Spotlight discusses no-line coloring! This is the technique of stamping an image with a very light colored ink. When a coloring medium is added, the stamped outline vanishes, giving the look of no stamped outline on the image. Many artists on our team do a stunning job with no-line coloring, but today we are highlighting the work of Jennifer Rustioni with the November release.

Here are some tips and tricks, in Jennifer's own words:

Most of the no-line coloring cards I realize are made with colored pencils. I use Prismacolor Premier colored pencils that are wax-based. This means that these pencils perform very well and are very opaque, even on a colored card stock. Another medium that I love to use on colored card stock are pastel pencils. They are very different from colored pencils because they are very soft, almost like chalk. I use them when I want to give a soft effect to my work. I also like to make no-line coloring with Copic markers! The choice of coloring medium depends on the kind of effect I want to achieve.

I love using MFT card stock for my cards! The MFT No-line Coloring Card Stock is very good with alcohol markers, and the MFT colored card stocks are perfect to use with colored pencils and also with pastel pencils.

If I am working on colored card stock, I usually stamp the image with Distress Ink Picket Fence. This is a white, opaque ink that allows for a very defined stamping. On the other hand, if I am working on a white card stock, I use a very light ink, such as Memento Desert Sand Ink Pad or Stamp Market No-line Ink Pad.
