When is it too late to create and send cards featuring snow...that's the question Sandy is asking this month! Are you ready for flowers and spring thoughts yet or are you just settling into the snowy season?
Hello and happy 2020, coloristas! It’s Sandy Allnock and I am delighted to be making my final (I think!) snow card of the 2019-2020 season...I’m ready for some flowers, how about you? (Check out my Rose Garden video here!)
My card for this month uses some creative masking to block off the counter of the kissing booth, then some creative drawing-of-snow-lumps in the empty spaces!
The rest of the coloring is mostly one color — for all the scene that’s going on here, I only did blending on the candy jar, knowing the snow would distract from everything else.
When coloring snow, don’t be afraid to add color behind it! It can be a mid tone like this BV34, or a real dark color — but the more color that’s present, the better the white pen highlights will show up!
If you want to see more snow applied, go to my blog, and scroll through the December posts — I did one a day for 25 days and most had snowstorms going on!
So tell me, is it still legal to send cards with snow on them? Is there a cutoff? I need to know when they turn into Christmas 2020 cards!
Have a great month…see you in February!
Personally, I think it's A-OK to embrace the season for as long as you'd like...especially when you're having as much fun creating as Sandy always does! Share all your MFT projects — snowy or otherwise, by tagging us with #mftstamps when you upload. As always, happy crafting!

so adorable!
I love the stiched dies and this penguin! The coloring is so well done.
Who doesn’t love a penguin 🐧
looking forward to new creative ideas from MDT in the new year!
Your cards are always so fabulous!
Snow will still be around Michigan for at least 3 more months so lots of snow cards are still ’legal"
I thing it´s okay crafting card with snow on it. Winter hasn´t really started yet and there are still 2 months until spring arrives officially :D
BUT…i´m really looking forward into creating nice cards with flowers, bees and stuff like that :D
Best wishes
Verena
