The sweet trill of songbirds is one of the most delightful harbingers of spring, and with the latest release, you'll find not one but TWO charming sets to satisfy your bird-loving friends and family. Sandy is joining us today with a bit of masking and some neat tricks with watercolor pencils featuring the new Tweet Memories stamp set. Check out what she's created, then scroll to the end of today's post for information about a Facebook Live event happening TONIGHT. Hope to see you there!

Happy April, coloring friends! It’s Sandy Allnock and I’m so tickled the spring weather finally arrived at my house...do we need a good spring this year or what?

Having not one but TWO bird sets brings extra cheer too — I’m not as big on flowers as I am birds! I decided to break out the watercolor pencils for today’s project, and I did some rather crazy masking once again to make the swing hang a little lower for the birds. You can see the process over on my blog today if masking stumps you!

When masking, I didn't get everything stamped perfectly, but a thin black micron (005) works great to match the stamped line’s thin delicacy, as well as being waterproof. White pen...well, when I go out of the lines it saves my bacon!

My tea strainer is worth its weight in gold. For a little item bought at the grocery store, it’s led to lots of great techniques like that sky.

Brushes are my Silver Black Velvet round brushes, size 8 and 12. One of my mentors always told me it’s best to use a brush just a little bigger than you think you need to watercolor — it keeps you from getting too persnickety!
