Love Is in the Air — Loved Ones

Today we’re highlighting ways to show your love to that special someone. We card makers know that those store-bought cards just won't do in this situation. Our loved ones expect something spectacular!

Welcome back to the final day of Love Is in the Air. For today's post, we're creating a gift card project for that special someone. A gift card to your significant other's favorite store is a great way to give a personalized gift while still letting them pick out something that they really want.

I created three gift card options using the Lots of Hearts Cover-Up for the background on each one. I created a blue and pink version featuring matching gift cards that can be created for pretty much any gift card. I love using the actual gift card as inspiration for the design and colors on the project. I also featured a vertical gift card with lots of color against a rainbow background.

To create the cards, I die cut the heart background from white card stock before applying the ink color and then adhered it to another white panel cut slightly smaller. You'll need to do this so that the gift card shaker pouch doesn't show through the openings between the hearts. You can then die cut the window opening using the Gift Window and Frame Die-namics and adhere the shaker pouch within the window.

I backed them with another piece of white card stock and then attached them to the card bases. I added stamped sentiments to the pink and blue ones using the Smitten with You stamp set, and left the rainbow version without a sentiment since there is a large word on the actual gift card.

I've always loved cards that feature a little removable card that can be tucked into a wallet, and since the cut out of the card area is the same size, I saved them (they're already decorated in hearts) so a heartfelt love note can be written on them for a little keepsake.
