Caly is joining us again today with a simply spectacular example of how the Twist & Turn Interactive Die-namics can be used to create a DOUBLE action design. If you've been intimidated to build this type of mechanism, her incredibly helpful video will relieve your apprehension and encourage you to give it a shot. Let's see what she's created!
Hi, friends!
This is Caly, and I’ve made a fun interactive card to share with you using the Twist & Turn Interactive Die-namics. The sweet critters from the Sending Sweet Celebration Wishes are having a dance!
I started by stamping the images with Black Licorice Hybrid Ink and coloring with Copic markers.
I decided early on that I wanted to make a double twist and turn card, so my card is a slimline card measuring 4” x 8 1/2”. Once all the images were colored and die cut, I arranged them for placement on a blank panel and began putting my mechanism together. You can watch my video tutorial below or follow the fabulous photo tutorial from Rachel Alvarado on her post HERE. She does an amazing job, and I found her photos so helpful when I was constructing my card.
The card panel is ink-blended using Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, Festive Berries, and Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide Ink. After ink-blending, I splattered it with some water. At this point, it is necessary to cut out little holes to expose the mechanism underneath where you want your images to go. You’ll also want to stamp your sentiment now unless you decide to do a sentiment strip after the fact. I then placed it over my mechanism, adhering it with foam adhesive.
The four critters are placed over the exposed rotating mechanisms so that they can dance, while the other colored images are adhered directly to my card. I had so much fun making this card and hope you enjoyed it! Be sure to check out the video to see the construction!
Thank you all for stopping by today!
