  • Scoring tool / Bone folder: Few things can ruin a card more quickly than a ragged, uneven fold. Scoring tools and folders assist you in creating crisp, clean folds for everything from the most basic single-fold cards to elaborate dimensional looks.
  • Die-cutting machine and Plates: If die cutting is on the agenda, you’ll need to purchase a die-cutting machine. Choose a machine with cutting plates and follow the provided instructions for creating the perfect “sandwich” for your heavyweight card stock and preferred die. Check out our Resource Section for some sample diagrams.
  • Embossing pads: Embossing pads allow you to create beautifully crisp impressions on your heavyweight card stock using dies and stencils. The heft of the card stock provides a flawless base for creating a rich texture.
  • Paper trimmer: A paper trimmer is essential for being able to quickly and accurately cut your heavyweight card stock to size. Whether you are making custom cards for a single recipient or mass producing for a big holiday or event, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without this indispensable tool.

If you’re a brand-new crafter, a rainbow of heavyweight card stock should be one of the first purchases you make. Overwhelmed by the choices? Start with some neutrals (blacks, whites, creams, and tans) and then, remember the ROYGBIV acronym (Red | Orange | Yellow | Green | Blue | Indigo | Violet) to fill in the colors. If you’re an experienced crafter, you already know that choosing the right shade is one of the best ways to start your project off the right way. Grab a selection of heavyweight card stock today to see what the fuss is about!
