How is your Christmas crafting coming along — are you ready to start thinking about Valentine's Day? Sandy is and she's chosen the darling Magical Friends set from Birdie brown to jump into the season of love!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS from me (Sandy Allnock) and my crew to all the MFT fam! Are you all ready yet!? I finished my shopping and shipping a week ago, which I think is an absolute RECORD!
I wanted to make a simpler card that I can send in the Valentine season coming up, and decided to color the dragons PINK! GAH! My teeth hurt they’re so cute in pink!
Watch the video for some Prismacolor pencil tips:
The white Prismacolor pencil really adds something nice to the color palette; instead of introducing a lighter pink that could be a pink mismatch, I just added white to the darker color and created an extra value!
The palette for this card is sooooo simple. With the pinks, I added a touch of green, which is the complement of pink — a little on her dress, and some touches on the dragons and grass gave it the right amount of color contrast.
Blending stumps aren’t just for blending solutions - they can soften color just by themselves!
I hope you enjoyed this sweet little card….and that you have a wonderful season ahead. I’ll see you in 2020 — can you BELIEVE it’s almost time to start a new decade?!? Let’s make it a colorful one!
Hmmm, we're thinking there are a lot of MFT characters and critters that could be "Valentine-ized" in shades of red and pink. Why not give it a shot this weekend with your favorite MFT images, then tag us by using #mftstamps when you upload so we can check out what you've done!

I own two doggie dogs as well—Lola (maltese) and Kirby (schnauzer) and enjoy their antics and companionship. No cats. Love to watch your coloring with pencils and Copics. I keep putting those miles on my brushes hoping to be as great an artist as you!
Such a super sweet card, love that dragon all in pinks. thanks for tips on pencil coloring.
I have a house full of critters. We own a dog, two cats, fish, rabbit and hermit crabs. But we also foster many puppies or kittens through out the year. There is always animal chaos here and we all love every minute of it.
Merry Christmas to you all.
I have no pets now but love having animals around. I have had several dogs, cats, birds, and guinea pigs in my heart and home. I am not able to care for any right now and miss having them around. Merry Christmas to you and all your wonderful pets(friends).
I currently have no pets. Traveling alone in my RV it would be nice to have a sweet cuddly pet to love but I don’t think it’s fair to the animal.
