Introducing the 2022 Card Design Superstars: Coloring Virtuoso

We're back with our second day of 2022 Card Design Superstar winners. Today, we're celebrating the incredible coloring skill our entrants demonstrated this year.

When choosing our winners, we were looking for cards using My Favorite Things supplies that embodied the following characteristics:

• Great design
• Superb execution
• Clever uses of our product
• Fresh approaches

As a reminder, we have five $250 winners from each category, and one randomly selected $100 winner. All of our winners will be emailed at the conclusion of announcements on Sunday regarding their prizes. Congratulations to you all.

Without further ado, meet your 2022 Coloring Virtuoso Card Design Superstars! 

Coloring Virtuoso

WHAT WE LOVE:

From the tippy-top of their fluffy beanies to the bottoms of their puffy boots, the skill in adding depth and dimension to these winter-loving friends is evident. The restraint in coloring the background elements and the warm winter sky are some of the things that make DB a Superstar.

WHAT WE LOVE:

Can you believe Federica conceived and hand-drew this entire background to complement the Tiddly Inks character that reminded her of Audrey Hepburn? Having the ingenuity to envision and bring to life an iconic scene using the supplies you have on hand is a testament to Federica's skill and a characteristic that makes her a Superstar.

WHAT WE LOVE:

Melina is another Superstar that reimagined a stamped character as the star of a favorite scene, turning this Birdie Brown pirate into a fierce dragon master. The character's coloring and the stippled dragon are fantastic, especially when paired with the stark stamped background city. Even the stitched die-cut letters got a cool coloring treatment reinforcing the scorched feel created by the flames. The full embrace of the theme in every aspect of the design is what makes Melina a Superstar.

WHAT WE LOVE:

Nathalie's card makes us feel as if we stepped into an enchanted fairytale. Her pencil-colored scene is a fantastic reminder of the magic of a snooze in a shady spot. Her ability to achieve such incredible depth and realistic fur in her storybook scene through her shading makes Nathalie a Superstar.

WHAT WE LOVE:

Judges loved this fun mingling of Birdie Brown and Tiddly Inks characters! The images themselves have tons of personality, but the custom mix of hair, eyes, and outfits enhance their uniqueness even more. Demonstrating an ability to create a cohesive collection through coloring is what makes Zubaida a Superstar.
