Summer School 2018: Rainbow

Summer School 2018 is back for a second week and we couldn’t be more excited to share another week of lessons and challenges!

One of our perennial favorites around here is our Summer School series. Understanding and internalizing different design concepts allows you to bring your ideas to life. With a little practice, these ideas will quickly become intuitive, leading your card designs to come together with minimal effort. Over the course of the next five days, we’ll bring you videos and projects designed to help you understand these basic principles and incorporate them into your own crafting.

When choosing a color scheme, particularly for a bright & happy occasion, you simply cannot go wrong with a rainbow. There is something so comforting and cheer-inducing about that ROYGBIV arrangement — whether you opt for traditionally vivid hues or tone things down with pastels, a rainbow is never wrong (and if it is, I don’t want to be right!)

From a full-on rainbow card front featuring a camouflage sentiment to peek-a-boo designs with a window framed rainbow accent, this color sequence is eminently versatile.

What a great way to use up strips of paper. So simple yet beautiful. Best of all what great ideas on using the background and making a card I would feel proud of creating. I like the colours you used. now I will be keeping my strips rather than discarding them. Makes me feel good to have less waste at the end of the day.
