A Sweet Hello: Watercoloring with Sandy Allnock
Hey there coloring friends! It’s the first Thursday after release, which means I’m back again with another coloring video…I look forward to this each month — I hope you do too!
Today’s card uses Friends in the Forest and I made it a winter card even though this cute set could actually be good for any time of year! The only one who’d be overdressed for spring would be the bear….and he could just be a bear who’s always chilly, right?
I stamped the front images first — the fox and owl — masked them off, then stamped the bear and deer. Next, I got out the watercolors and had fun! Check out the video to see how I did it and get some tips for mixing colors and creating that vignette background.
Fun, wasn’t it? The hardest part for me when watercoloring is waiting for the paint to dry before coloring a part of the image next to what I want to paint; I’m not a fan of how heat-drying curls my paper, so I’m trying to learn patience!
If you’d like the full list of colors in my palette, hop over to my blog and I’ve posted a bunch of info about the palette and everything there for you.
I’ll be coloring up these cuties in other mediums soon so come join me on Instagram too. I’d love to share more ideas for using these sweet images for cardmaking!
I won’t see you ’til after Thanksgiving so let me wish you and yours a beautiful celebration of the season of gratitude! I am forever grateful for everyone in this lovely craft industry and all that I’ve gained from each and every person. Thank you for inspiring me!
