Friendly Forest Three Ways

Hi there! I’m super excited to be back with another post!

Today I’d like to show you three cards I made using the recently released Friendly Forest set — love it! The images are cute and whimsical, and I appreciate the opportunity to use my inks and just go to town stamping the critters!

For my first card I stamped the Whimsical Woodgrain Background onto two panels of my favourite kraft card stock, then I trimmed the second panel a bit and die-cut a square window into it.

I went for a very simple scene created with some distress inks and stencils — I used my go-to stencils this season: Drifts & Hills and Mini Cloud Edges. I added some interest to the fox by highlighting her nose and eyes with some black enamel accents.

For my second card, I decided to create a winter scene with the same fox. I used shades of blue, gray, and spearmint for this. I used the Drifts & Hills Stencil again to ground my fox and the trees. I also added some snowflakes with a white gel pen.

I like how the triangles on the background are balanced by the triangles of the Winter Trees, which I popped up on some dimensional adhesive for additional interest. I used Stitched Fishtail Sentiment Strips Die-namics and Snow Globe Sentiments (which is perfect for holiday projects, let me tell you!) to finish off the card.

Finally, for my last card I went for an almost monochromatic look using Kraft, Natural, and Chocolate Brown inks.

I used some inlaid die cutting and created a globe for my forest scene. Modern trees seemed perfect for this card. To round off the foresty look I used the Whimsical Woodgrain Background again.

I like odd number of images on my cards, so I added three adorable critters to the scene. I debated the colour of the banner for a while, to be honest with you. In the end, I decided to make it white to tie it together with the white of the critters and the sentiment.

Thank you for spending some time with me! I hope I could inspire you to play with you favourite critter stamps! Have a great day and take care!
