Beach Day with Laura
We’re headed to the beach today! May guest Laura Guttridge is sharing a totally seaworthy look featuring products from our latest release — ahoy, Laura!
Once the sky was completed, I started work on the beach. I die cut two choppy looking waves and one that would make a sandy shore using the Ocean Waves Die-namics. I then coloured them using Distress Oxide inks, ready to stack onto my card. The dies make it really quick to create a multi-layered scene.
I stamped and then coloured the gulls, shells, and starfish with Copic markers before adding details/highlights to the whole card with a white gel pen. I find that adding these little details helps the whole card pop.
I used 3D foam tape to create dimension and this also allowed me to tuck some of the gulls into the waves to give the illusion they are resting on the ocean.
I finished off the card by using some glossy accents to create some shine on the waves and I chose the sentiment “I’m so glad you’re mine, mine, mine” from the Seaside Seagulls set to give it an additional fun element.
These are great new items and so versatile, you can create so many looks from just a few sets!
