Just Add Color: September 2018

We so enjoy our Release Countdown each month – our team never fails to inspire us and we love seeing your enthusiasm and reading your ideas for using the new collection. We want to extend that excitement past release night with even more opportunities for the designers to blow us away with their creativity and ingenuity.

So many of our stamp sets feature images that invite color — from markers and pencils to watercolors, our designers are itching to show off their coloring prowess and innovative techniques.

Copic coloring from Torico featuring Birdie Brown Fall Friends #mftstamps

Fall weather = lots of layers = massive opportunity for customizing with color and pattern! Our Fall Friends are ready for anything with their hats, scarves, jackets, and boots. Are you as excited about bringing them home as we are?

Have you ever wondered how Torico achieves such a stunning depth of color, texture, and detail on her images? This month, she’s created a video highlighting her process with the new Birdie Brown Fall Friends — watch in her on the blog or on our Youtube channel. What she can achieve with her mix of Copic and pencil is simply magic. Having such an incredible grasp of color pairings certainly helps as well!

You’re already feeling inspired, right? Brace yourselves because we have so much more to share! Check out what the rest of the team has created in response to our Just Add Color challenge below!

Loved watching this video. Will have to try the marker/pencil combo. Just love the patterned scarf and hat she was able to create!

I went through all the DT’s challenge, and it is quite helpful to me. I also viewed Torico’s video. I’m gobsmacked to know that I work with both markers and pencils, but I had never had the lightbulb to marry these two together. This will HAVE to be my everyday kind of coloring on my creations. Thank you so very much.

I loved watching this video. Beautiful color combinations! I agree I would love to know the the names of the colored pencils used. I really like the combination of copics with colored pencil shading. Beautiful! I can’t wait to get my Birdie Brown stamps to try this combination. I also agree MFT’s speed of shipment after a new release is impressive! Thank you!!

I could watch her color all day. Thank you for clarifying which colored pencils she used on this video. I am impatiently waiting for my release order to arrive – which I must say I was impressed with the speed of shipment on a release day order.

I love your videos so I can learn how to color my MF T stamps. However, they go so fast I can never catch the color markers, etc. that are used. Can you slliw the videos down sometime or show a list of markers?
    Thanks!
