Create in Color with Sandy Allnock
One Pair of Stamps, Two Seasons — what a great concept, right? Leave it to Sandy to show us how to easily transition some of your favorite images from one season to the next…just imagine all the possibilities!
It’s that time again — let’s get coloring!
Fall is on the way. Winter is coming! I’m Sandy Allnock, and I’m sorry to bring you the bad news! It’s September and it’s time to drink that pumpkin spice and snuggle in for the cooler weather.
To make that transition a little easier, I’ve got a fun little idea: Stamp the little critters from Woodland Friends and Friendly Raccoons, and make one fall and one winter card — at the same time! That’s what I did…and the challenge helped me to make that winter one without *too* much resentment about summer being behind us! Watch the video below for the easy technique.
The little fall leaves are so easy — almost like polka dots but make them more like little marker strokes so they look a bit more like crunchy leaves. If they’re too bright, add some purple for the complementary color and dull it down a little.
As for winter — a touch of blue is all they need to stand in the snow! It’s fun to create a couple footprints too…
Are you already imagining how you can apply this theory to your own collection? Maybe you’ve already added these sweet images from our September Release to your stash! If you make this idea your own, be sure to tag us with #mftstamps — we want to see what you’re creating!
