Polar Pals in the Spotlight
Hello, again! It’s Amy from A Thousand Sheets of Paper and I’m back this week with a pair of Christmas cards featuring the fun critters from the Polar Pals stamp set and Die-namics that were part of the October release. For my first card today, I’ve imagined this cute narwhal leaping out of the cold, arctic waves to jump through a hoop of holiday greetings. To make this happen I used a mix of new and older Die-namics. The ‘hoop’ is the Happy Holidays Circle Frame and the water was created by cutting some ombre inked card stock into strips with the Ocean Waves Die-namics. This background was trimmed out using the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 2 and the coordinating Polar Pals dies made it easy to cut out the narwhal and pop him up with dimensional adhesive right over the Stitched Sentiment Strip.
For my second card, I created a single layer scene by masking the penguin, seal and polar bear all together onto the ice floe. I used my Copic markers to color their cute winter wear in traditionally festive red and green holiday colors. Then I continued to sketch in the cold, winter waves and towering pines in the background to really flesh out the arctic home they live in.
I hope you have enjoyed these Polar Pal creations as much as I enjoyed making them and I will see you again next week!
