The newest MFT card kit has arrived, and it is packed with ways to show loved ones the depth of your feelings for them.

If you love the whimsy of a modern calligraphy style, the Heart Art stamp set will give you all the heart eyes. This six-image set features a variety of sweet greetings — each showcased within a simple heart shape. These sentiments fit within the openings of the Heart Trio Shaker Window Die-namics as well as the Mini Heart Shaker Window & Frame Die-namics for even more design possibilities.

The Heart Trio Shaker Window & Frame Die-namics creates a trio of heart-shaped windows, perfectly aligned and spaced, in your card fronts and panels. Each window features a delicate embossed detail around its perimeter for an impeccable finish. Ten Heart Trio Shaker Pouches are included to fill the windows.

Can you ever share too much love? We think not! The Double the Love Die-namics features this most necessary sentiment in both horizontal and vertical variations sized to fit an A2 card in either orientation. Use either the positive die cuts to create multi-colored and dimensional greetings or the negative to create windows, shakers, or other fun designs. The heart from the new Free with $60, Mini Heart Shaker Window Die-namics, is a perfect fit to replace the “O” providing for another exciting design option.

Last but not least, we’ve completed the Heart Art Card Kit with a lovely assortment of card stock options — twelve sheets in total and including Smooth White (5 sheets), Cotton Candy, Ripe Raspberry, Red Hot, Berrylicious, Blu Raspberry, Wild Wisteria, and Gravel Gray.

Check Out Melodic Card Stylings from Mona Toth

Another day, another fabulous guest designer. Today, we’re welcoming Mona Toth whose bright, cheery style is like a breath of fresh air. Say hi to Mona!

Hi everyone! It’s Mona here and I am thrilled to be a guest designer on the My Favorite Things blog! Today I will feature the super sweet Tweethearts stamp set and Die-namics along with the Sassy Pants Love stamp set. For my project, I was inspired by these sweet and cute canaries — they are the cutest little yellow singers!

Handmade card from Mona Toth featuring products from My Favorite Things #mftstamps

I started the card by stamping and die cutting. I made lots of little notes and a few yellow birdies with the Tweethearts set. I colored them with my Copic Markers.

The next step was the background and ink blending. I love to use complementary colors so to balance the yellow birds, I chose Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet, Seedless Preserves, and Black Soot Distress Oxide inks and blended the card base. After blending, I created splatters on the card using the same colors.

When that was done, I heat embossed the cage and the funny sentiment from the Sassy Pants stamp set on the background with white embossing powder. Just look at this sentiment — it makes me smile! 🙂

Handmade card from Mona Toth featuring products from My Favorite Things #mftstamps

To finish, I arranged the elements, adhered everything in the right place, and my card was ready.

Thank you very much for reading through my post, I hope that I have inspired you! If you like my creations check my blog and let’s be friends on Instagram. See you next time! 🙂

Big hugs,

Mona

The theory of using complementary colors is one we’ve talked about before — you can find more about it in our previous Summer School series. Mona’s card is a great reminder of just how well it works in practice! What aspect of design do you struggle with? What do you excel at? We want to see you put these theories to work in your own designs so be sure to tag us at #mftstamps!

You Bet Your Beak You’ll Love Mindy’s Tweet Card

Mindy Eggen is with us today to share a fun take on a shaker card featuring the gorgeous Hearts Entwined Die-namics. Welcome, Mindy!

I am so honored to be guest designing on the MFT Blog. Today, I’m sharing a shaker card — I also have a video tutorial on my Youtube channel that you can view HERE.

Handmade card from Mindy Eggen featuring products from My Favorite Things #mftstamps

I started my card by coloring in this sweet little bird from the Tweethearts stamp set. I stamped my image using Extreme Black Ink using my Mini MISTI and colored with RV17, RV14, RV23, and RV21 Copic markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut out my image and set off it to the side to work on my background.

I created my background by die cutting the front panel using the Hearts Entwined Die-namics. I used a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ white card stock and centered the die on it. I just needed the window, but I saved the die-cut piece for a future card.

Next, using another piece of 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card stock, I blended Peacock Feathers and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide inks. Align the window panel over the top of the blended panel to make sure both colors are visible. I mixed water and Perfect Pearls and flicked the mixture onto my background with a paintbrush before setting aside to dry.

To create the shaker, I lined the back of my window panel with acetate. Then I die cut the Hearts Entwined design again — this time from Gold Shine Card Stock — and adhered to the front of the card panel. Using two layers of foam tape, I went around the window on the back side of the panel to form my shaker, also adding foam tape to the rest of the backside for additional support. I added some Sparkling Clear Sequins and attached to my blended ink panel.

I heat embossed a sentiment from Tweethearts onto black card stock with white embossing powder. Using the Essential Slanted Sentiment Strips Die-namics, I cut the sentiment down and added it to the front of the card finishing it off with my sweet little birdie.

I hope you enjoyed today’s inspiration. Thank you for stopping by and thank you MFT for inviting me today.

That peek-a-boo shaker effect is such an exciting way to put Hearts Entwined to use. Have any other great ideas for shaking up this lovely design? Tag us at #mftstamps to show off your work!

Using the colors from the Sweet Stack Paper Pack as a guide for the rest of her elements ensures a cohesive look with minimal effort. Our new Lots of Hearts and Lots of Hearts Outlines Die-namics make it easy to create a pop of contrast in a classic theme-appropriate way while a sentiment from Sassy Pants Love finishes the card off perfectly for almost any recipient on your list.

Handmade card from Debbie Olson featuring products from My Favorite Things #mftstamps #valentinesday

Our designers were definitely working on a similar wavelength this month! Debbie embossed her stencil design as well, mixing it with some gorgeous airbrushing to achieve this colorful look. A phrase from Sweet Nothings provides a sentimental finishing touch her recipient is sure to be charmed by.
