You Could Be a Card Design Superstar Contest – 2016!

We are thrilled, excited, and downright STOKED to announce a fantastic creative opportunity  — the chance for YOU to be named a Card Design Superstar! Yes, we’re hosting our second annual card contest, and we can’t WAIT to see what you make!

I don’t know about you, but after Tuesday night’s release of our September products, I am beyond inspired! It just feels like the perfect time of year to get creative.

You may remember that at the end of session three of  MFT Camp Create we hinted at a fun way to put all of your knowledge to use, and now is your chance to SHINE!

What’s in it for YOU? Oh, to begin with there will be a pretty tantalizing prize. How does a $250 gift voucher from My Favorite Things sound? We’ll be awarding a $250 voucher to each of our TEN winners! Check it out!

But more than that, this will be a chance for you to create some cards that you’re proud of, stretch your creative limits, and interact and cheer on other people who love to make cards just as much as you do. Pretty much a huge win no matter what!

So, you’re probably wondering how this will work. Let me give you the details:

  • Create brand new/original cards using any theme you like. Previously posted cards will not be considered.
  • Maximum number of entries per participant is three (3).
  • Use stamps and Die-namics from My Favorite Things. Cards using other products will be disqualified immediately, so get inventive with our products that you have on hand (or buy some)!
  • Submit your card(s) to the InLinkz link at the end of this post on or before 10 pm EDT on Thursday, September 22nd.
  • When submitting your card, please simply use your name in the Link Title section.
  • International entries are most DEFINITELY welcome!

What will the panel of judges be looking for?

  • Great design
  • Superb execution
  • Clever uses of our product
  • Fresh approaches

The ten winning cards will be revealed on the blog on Thursday, September 29th, and our 2016 Card Design Superstars will be announced!

OK – time to start sketching and scheming and planning and creating! It’s going to be so FUN to see what you make!

You might find our Camp Create YouTube Playlist helpful as you create for inspiring ideas and great tips! You can find Sessions One, Two, and Three HERE.

So, are you in? Take a deep breath. Channel your inner creative goddess, and start making awesome cards! What have you got to lose?

Show us what you’ve got, superstar!

Hello, I’m writing to say that the thumbnail for my entry (#591) doesn’t represent my finished card. I was one of the last few to enter this challenge so I didn’t have a chance to delete that entry and re-enter before the challenge has closed. If you would like to, please head over to my blog for better pictures and more details on my card: http://jessiehandmade657.blogspot.com/2016/09/stained-glass-christmas-card-ft-my.html. Thanks so much!

What a fantastic contest MFT. I am afraid I have a problem. I used stamptv to add both my çards, numbers 466 and 580 and stamptv has crashed in someway and has been inaccessible for about three days now. I just tried to put both the cards up on a Pinterest board I just created. Jane S. Original cards. The pictures are not nearly as good as they were on stamptv, I do not know why that is. I want very much to participate in this contest. Will this work, I hope? Thank you , Jane Sirak [email protected]

LOTS of AWESOME card ideas, but what does one expect when MFT has so much to offer with all their GREAT stamp sets! It was fun to take part and see all the inspiration from all over the country! Thanks for hosting this contest. Although I own a few MFT supplies, the competition made me think out of the box, to use my dies in creative ways like never before. My entries are 404, 406 & 407. All three are in one blog post, so #404 is the actual link .
    Sorry for the inconvenience.

It’s the first time that I participate in such a contest and I’m really impressed with all those wonderful cards. It’s interesting to see which stamps/dies were used and what kind of cards the different artists made with them. I sure had fun using some of my MFT stamps and dies and I look forward to seeing who the superstars will be.

Awesome thing you guys are doing! Some of us really have to think on that! Like me since I am new to MFT and was mostly busting dies (such unique and original stuff), so I have only 2 stamp sets from MFT! 🙂 for now… 😉

Question – corner punch – cool or not cool? Want to be sure before I send my card for your judgment. *stress*

    Thank you in advance!

Is there a way to edit our link to our entry? I put my name as my link title, as we are supposed to do. But, when I added the link to my blog, it deleted my name and added the name of the blog entry. I am entry 119, and I was just trying to find a way to edit the title to read my name. My name is Karen Lampe, and I just wanted to add that to the title, if possible. Thanks for any help. Thanks for this fun contest!

      Hi Robin,

You can link from an online gallery, Flickr, Instagram, Photobucket, virtually anywhere from which you can link it.

      Hi Robyn,
I don’t have a blog either. You can obtain the URL on Instagram. You’ll see 3 little dots on the right hand side of your post, click on that them on there it will say ‘copy url’ click on that. Then head to the ‘link’ on mft and just paste it there. Hope that helps you :)))(

What about embellishments such as enamel dots? I made a card I’d love to enter for this but I realized after finishing it that the enamel shapes weren’t MFT.

I understand that MFT stamps and dies should be the featured products in our designs, but are we allowed to combine them with any stamps from other companies on our cards? Thanks so much for this amazing opportunity.

Hi, I got the same question as already previously asked: stamps and dies genuinely make sense, but what about inks and paper? What if I need to apply other text than available with other stamp sets, i. e. just characters or printed out? Your input on this is highly appreciated (since there was no answer on the other commenter, thus I also ask).

While we would LOVE for you to use our card stock and inks, this is not a requirement. And regarding adding other text, rethink your idea so that you don’t have to use other stamp sets or computer generated sentiments. It’s all about being creative with what you have!

Wow! Very excited for this opportunity… although I’m nowhere near the caliber of some of these other amazing artists! 🙂

Question, please – I see that we are required to use MFT stamps and Die-namics…and that makes sense.

Does the same rule apply for paper and/or ink? Stencils, etc? I just want to make sure I’m clear before I attempt any cards. 🙂

    Thanks again for this chance!
