I am fairly new to the world of card making and find MFT is such a fun company. I love how you do your releases with all those peeks and wonderful examples made up by your team of talent. I so look forward to the releases and in fact had just turned up to see if anything was happening as so curious to see what this month brings. Card making for me is an escape from a busy life as Mother and RN working night duties. Sometimes I find it all a bit of a struggle but after taking time to enjoy the online community and get a card or two made I think yes it is all okay and worth the effort to be blessed with this hobby of mine and to be able to indulge in some new products from time to time :). It is also awesome to give gifts now that are all handmade by me, I am a soap and candle maker and recently I have felt so good about decorating boxes and bags and giving handmade cards along with my goodies. Thanks MFT for all the great quality goodies you design and for the tons of inspiration you provide with it. Lyn

I have managed to gather an pretty good stash of supplies in a short period of time and nothing makes me happier than to disappear into my crafting corner. Before I started making cards I never really put much thought into them, now I just love the to see the light in the eyes of the recipient when they find out I cared enough to make the card myself.

    hello from Israel!
    Happy New 2014 YEAR!

MFT has become a source of my daily inspiration!
MFT is the website I check up every new day!
MFT has added difference and creativity to my life!

Being a part of this friendly and inspiring community has become so important to me…

When I look back….what is to say?
I didn’t start as a stamper or scrapbooker. I wanted to decorate my son’s photo album and whilst searching on the net for more information I got so overwhelmed from MFT dies and stamps. I kind of collapsed at the first time I discovered MFT blog. It has changed my life!

I feel so much love when my friends and family get my cards….Thanks to MFT I am spreading my love and care !Something home made means so much more than a store bought card.
The smiles and thank yous I get are PRICELESS!
That for me is what makes it all worthwhile.

Card making has become a perfect HOBBY for me …my new lifestyle.I don’t know now what I did in my spare time before I started card making….The first stamp I purchased and made a card was the stamp” Pure Innocence Love You With All My Heart”. It was for my dad’s birthday. He was so touched and said this card meant more to him than anything I could have bought.

Thank you for sharing with us your incredible talent! Happy New Year to all and one!

Your blog is at the top of my FAVORITE THINGS in life!

Being part of the crafting community has added beautiful friendships to my life first and foremost! And from there a creative spirit is nurtured by the creative souls that we each share with each other when we make things! I love the spirit of giving and giving back that occurs with cards and scrapbook pages or even with the little doll I created this weekend that inspired my son to create with me! In this world of technology it is nice to spend time offline getting my hands inky and making something from scratch to bless the people in my life! I am so thankful for all the companies that create products to nourish my artistic spirit! What a gift to all of us!
    Happy New Year MFT!

I am richly blessed to have this wonderful outlet. I started stamping in 1985 as a means to deal with some miscarriages and let me tell you, the stamps and accessories at that time were very limited. I have continued this hobby and now am making cards and scrapbook pages for a brand new grandson. God is good. He uses miscarriages, rubber and ink and wonderful online communities to enrich our lives. Thank you for being part of that.

  43. 43
    Loulou says:

Being part of the crafting community has led to finding many new friends online and in the real world. I love the inspiration that I can get on a daily basis from some truly creative people. The inspiration and challenges have also helped to improve my techniques and skills. Crafting certainly does lead to some depletion in my bank account – but who cares about that when you have lovely new goodies in your stash. Creating something is just so fulfilling and brings such joy into my life – especially when your creation is going to someone you know will really treasure it.

I love being part of the crafting/stamping world and have met so many wonderful people who share my love of all things paper. There is always something that catches my eye [whether a blog post, a card in the gallery or a YouTube video] which pushes me to be more creative and step out of my comfort zone. Making something beautiful from a blank piece of paper is so fulfilling. I have especially enjoyed meeting the MFT family and hope to continue to spend many enjoyable hours at the boutique.

    Robin (scrappintlc) says:

Oh boy, telling about myself. Hmmmmm…
I have met & have become friends w/some amazingly talented people through MFT as well as non-MFT designers. Their gorgeous creations, the way they mix & match products, the “finds” they’ve discovered thru their opps moments have enriched & inspired my creativity greatly. I refer back a lot to their blogs. I feel like they are family. I consider you, Kim, a great friend from our many correspondence together. I greatly look forward to the new releases each & every month to see what new innovative products will be introduced & have been known to be a tad impatient on that front once it becomes like the 3rd week of the month. *chuckle* SHHHHHHH…don’t tell anyone ;) In all seriousness though, I am truly grateful for the people who I say are true friends, the creativity/hard work the designers past & present have thought up & shared along w/the inspiration they sparked in me. Thank you to all @ MFT, my creative life is richer b/c of all of you. Mwah!

    Kathy Berger says:

The past twenty one years have been pretty rough on me. I have had injuries that cost me a career I worked hard to achieve, caused me to have to have multiple surgeries (10 so far, with at least one more and possibly two needed), and left me unable to do many of the things I love most. But through it all I have had one thing that has kept me from falling completely apart…my paper crafting. Paper crafting has given me a huge pool of friends from all around the globe, some of whom I have met in person, some I haven’t, but all of whom share a passion for creating. This community of stampers, scrappers, and card makers has been there for me through the worst of times, but also have been there for some of the best. They were there to console me when my father and then my brother died, but to also celebrate with me when my daughter started kindergarten and when she graduated from college. They were there with me through unsuccessful surgeries, yet they were there with me when I was finally able to walk again after four years of pain. The paper crafting community is family!

I want all the colors and am always so excited to see what new colors are being released. Thank you MFT for being so generous in your giveaway!

Paper crafting brought joy back into my life when I had forgotten how to feel joy and happiness. I started scrapbooking back in the early 80′s, but had moved on to other hand crafts (smocking and cross-stitching). I came back to scrapbooking and then paper crafting about eight years ago. Working with paper, scissors, glue, and of course, embellishments, brings such peace into my life. Using blogs and websites to expand my knowledge, inspire my work/play, and now stepping out to make friends through the wonderful blog hop, is my spiritual tonic for my creative soul. I use to love paintingut having a daughter with dual disabilities has limited the time available to me..i still needed to find time for ‘me’ a time for not having to think about what next, a time to just create and block out the rest of the world and making cards became that for me. To be able to loose myself just for short bits of time make all the difference to my life and sanity. Also allows me to be able to go back to the real world of mother, wife and carer having enjoyed every minute of what ever time I can breakaway for.

Happy New Year to all on the MFT team – have a great one! And, may I say, that this is a really generous prize – thanks for the chance to win.

What does crafting and this community mean to me? I moved to the US nearly two years ago and was welcomed into the local crafting community really quickly. Blog buddies I made in the UK became real-life friends as I’ve had the chance to meet up. And I’ve friends in all parts of the world now. I’ve learnt lots from others in our community and had the chance to have a go at lots of new techniques. It’s also one of the most caring communities in blogland!

    Wow! Amazing cards.

What it means to me to be part of the papercrafting community is a sense of sharing ideas with other crafters via blogs, galleries, and learning from other crafters as well. I’ve learned so much over the past few years and challenged myself to try new things and see things from a different perspective. Plus, I’ve made a few friends along the way too! Can’t get any better than that.

  92. 92

Paper crafting has drawn me since I was a child. About four years ago I started scrapbooking and it just snowballed from there. The ability to manipulate paper in so many ways just keeps tugging at my creative side. Although I’ve switched to mainly card making because of the shorter time process, I still enjoy larger scrapbooking projects too. None of my close friends are really crafty so being able to connect with people from all over the world who “get it” has been such a blessing to me. Encouragement and sharing both from others and myself just seem to round out the part of me that needs to create. Being part of the crafting community has opened up a whole world of new friends, ideas, and ways to express my artsy side. It’s changed my life completely. :-)

My name is Alisa. I am a scrapper digitally, but a paper card maker. I love crafting as my release from the stresses of being a mom of three. So, it’s especially nice to have a community of fellow card makers to learn from and aspire to be like. The design team gives me the boost of confidence to know I could be like them. The people who receive my cards are always so amazed. Thanks, MFT!

Being a part of this crafting community has given me an outlet to share my memories with my family, especially my daughter. There is so much history that is lost because it’s not shared and being able to pass on that history creatively is an added bonus! In addition, being a part of this crafting community is a great way to meet others to share ideas, learn new things and make life long friends. In the end, being able to share creatively is priceless.

    Pam Selinski says:

I have dabbled in a variety of crafts my entire life but about 6 1/2 years ago, I was pinned between to vehicles and lost my left leg above the knee. Crafting and especially paper crafting, provided me a way to get through some really bad times in my return to humanity. Initially I didn’t want to do anything and just laid around but my husband informed me that I had a room full of craft stamps and paper. He also informed me that if I wasn’t interested in that craft anymore he would clean the room out. Well I had purchased each one of the stamps for a reason and so I went in my craft room and started going through things. The next thing I know I am stamping a card and then came another and another. Every morning I wake up and the first place I go is to my craft room and look through my stamps and decide what I want to do today.

I volunteered at a hospice and make cards for them every month. Through crafting and the support of my crafting friends I have come to realize that my life is not over because I only have 1 leg but that I have a lot that I contribute. I know teach a class twice a month in card making, still am a hospice volunteer and recently volunteered to make greeting cards for an elderly woman who still likes to write to her friends.

The support that I have received from my stamping buddies is phenomenal. I don’t know that I would have been as successful in my rehab without them. The people that I have met through stamping and paper crafting are some of the nicest and most caring people. They have impacted my life in a way that I could never begin to thank them enough.

  107. 107

This really is a $100 question! I’m thankful for a few minutes to think of my answer! This hobby has helped me to rediscover a part of me that had been long buried. When I was a teenager, I dabbled in many crafts, especially sewing. Then my quest to be a responsible adult took over and I no longer allowed time for creativity. After 25 years, I’ve learned the importance of allowing time for myself. And surprisingly, this “selfishness” has allowed me to give more of myself to others.

Well crafting, any kind of crafting, whether it be card making, scrap book making, making stained glass or even trying to knit (which is very difficult for me and I come from a long line of knitters/seamstresses/quilters–I should have paid more attention) anyways, I don’t think crafting is a hobby for me I feel that it is a way of life for me, part of who I am. I have crafted for decades, for personal gains, never monetary, trying almost anything and everything. And not to toot my own horn, but I am kind of proud that if I see something I like chances are I can recreate it. Trust me, my daughter enjoys that part too! She and her fiancée just bought their first home and I am itching to get in there! As is she! We have lots of ideas, mixed media canvases, signs, EVERYTHING on Pinterest…..well you get the idea! lol Happy New Year!

I stumbled across card-making while pursuing my first crafting love—scrapbooking. The card-making blogs and inspiration hops became my teacher in this new endeavor. It’s become my habit to make a card or two per week, which is such a stress-reliever ( I stay very busy teaching fourth grade). The comments of other crafters gave me the confidence to actually send those cards, and there is nothing so rewarding as a friend saying that a card was a blessing.

Wow…fabulous hop prize!! I started out scrapbooking about 10 years ago when my daughter drug me to what I believe was a Making Memories party. Of course I was hooked for life!! 10 years later and I now own several diecutting machines, and enough product to last me a lifetime. I always make my family’s holiday & occasions cards, which is so much fun, and they seem to really enjoy them. Then one day I came across a couple of charitable blogs, and found out I could make cards that would be sent hospitals, army personnel, etc. I thought …what a great way to give back to those who are not as fortunate as me to be able to sit in my craft room & play!! I just sent my first batch of Christmas cards to an organization about a month ago and plan to try & make many, many more this year!

I have done a wide variety of crafts over the year but now I do mostly paper crafts……….love to make cards and design my own. Keeps my mind working and gives me something to do each and every day. I am disabled now but sitting and doing papercrafts has been a BLESSING to me. I will walk into the sunset with paper trailing behind me………lovely thought!

I’m new to the crafting community and to card-making, but I’m constantly impressed and inspired by the creativity and generosity I see all around. It’s with the community’s help that I’ve figured out what the right tools are, and what my favorite brands are. There are so many different things a person can buy or techniques that can be used for card making that it can quickly become overwhelming. I am grateful to each person who shares their talent and creativity, as well as their time in explaining how things work and why. It’s inspiring to be a part of such a community, even if I tend to lurk more than post.

Thank you for the opportunity! I haven’t tried MFT stamps yet, but they have caught my eye.

I’ve been blessed with so much. My favorite Bible verse is “Create in me (a clean heart o God)” He does work in my creative self and calls on me to share my gifts with others. One of my favorite things to create are Bible verse mini albums. I reflect and pray over the verse as I create. The crafting process really helps “renew a right spirit within me.” I also feel called to send cards as He directs me and pray for the recipient as I create. I try to share my blessings.

I have enjoyed crafting from the time I was little!! It was something I shared with my mom!! When I was 10, I was diagnoised with Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn’s Disease!! I spent three years in Children’s Hospital before they had to do emergency surgery to save my life!! I was told I would never be able to alot of things!! I went on with my plans and NEVER let my diseases affect my dreams and I have accomplished EVERY goal I have set for myself!! Crafting has ALWAYS been an outlet and it has helped me through so much!! THANKS for sharing and for the chance to win!! I hope you have a FABULOUS New YEAR!! YIPPEE for 2014!! =)

I have been stamping for 20 years and still love it today. There are times when life keeps me busy and I packed up my things (even gave some it away). I know that the holiday bring on a lot of stress and usually depression for me. Because I know that about myself and choosing to do something about it this year, I pulled out my stamping supplies (my ‘stash’) and started creating again. It has been wonderful to be doing something that I absolutely love, making things for others to enjoy.

Before I had a collection of cards that just sat in a box. I made so many that I didn’t know what to do with them all. I recently found out about Operation Write Home. Now I have a home for these cards. And I feel know I have a purpose.

  155. 155

Paper crafting can be the most satisfying, and relaxing obsession I have. Although I teach and demo mostly card making, I do enjoy getting a few albums made, and prefer the handmade designs over the “fill in the pages” book type. It means so much to send or receive a handmade card. As another friend once said, “you hold this card, and realize someone took the time to make it just for me”.
It’s nice to win, and better to share. Thanks for all the inspirations.

I feel so fortunate to have found this stamping world so many years ago and love the feeling I get when someone truly appreciates my cards. It is a special way of sharing my creativity. The card is so much more important than the gift!! Thanks to MFT for making it so easy for me to make the greatest cards. Your PI images are too cute and all of the Die-namics add a special element to each card. Keep the inspiration coming! All the best in 2014!

Hello! I have been an avid stamper for close to 20 years now. But, I have also embraced all of the many new things that have appeared over the years – dies, stencils, mixed media, etc. I love paper crafting of any kind and it is such a stress reliever. I have two blogs and have “met” so many talented and caring people along the way – I love challenges, swaps and just creating for the fun of it, too! Not just new techniques and ideas, but also learning from how other creative folks live and find balance between their work and family lives. The amount of inspiration and support in this community is just amazing. What I appreciate most about MFT is the incredible design team you all have put together and the awesome and diverse types of inspiration you provide every month.

When some of the local organizations that I belong to need greeting cards (for sympathy, birthdays, etc) I’m asked to provide them. the Civic Club has a high tea each year. I saw a die that would make a teacup. I purchased the die and we’ll be making about 80 or more teacups as favors for the tea. I work in vendor fairs and I provide items for auctions for local charities. I get to use my creativity for myself – making greeting cards for my own use. I’m trying to get into mixed-media more but the cards seem to come first.

Sometimes life “gives” you a challenge that turns out to be a blessing in disguise. That is how I began my crafting obsession. I was having some difficulties in my life. In order to “organize” some portion of my life, I began by scrapbooking my pictures. It is amazing once a project is begun how the rest of your life can also improve, especially once you find others along the way. It is the “others” in the crafting area that actually helped me through my difficulties the most. I have found a whole other “family” to connect with. And I am having so much fun along the way! The internet has opened up a whole new world of friends. Thank you to all of you out there!

Being a crafter has helped me to focus on what is important. When you spend your time recollecting memories you notice that the most important moments, the ones that make life have a sense are the smallest ones. When you spend time with your beloved ones, a cup of coffee, a rainy evening watching a movie, one day in the country… it’s one of the best things that have ever happened to me.

This is a wonderful way to start 2014. I have been stamping for 16 years. It has opened so many doors for me in so many areas of my life. I get to volunteer at organizations — introducing this wonderful craft. I teach at any opportunity. I pray each day for The Lord to use me as an example and he has always answered to allow me to use this hobby to others to show love, patience and sharing in all areas of day to day living. Love MFT — I pass along your web address at every opportunity. I am pretty much exclusive to your product line these days. For me, this “community” means so much. Years ago, I tried to get groups of people together to “play” but living in such a small community in the middle of nowhere, I am fairly alone. My online community helps me keep in touch with all new things, and gives me inspiration for creating new things. I learn so much from my online community. If I didn’t have them, I would have most likely given up the craft years ago.

  205. 205

Although I have been crafting in various ways since I was a kid, I never have had so much fun and inspiration until I met the Fiskateers, and started learning about other techniques. Since I started paper-crafting I get the opportunity to share my art more broadly and look for the opportunity to share more often, i just got my first stamps in November and hope to add more to my collection to make even more smiles on my friends and families faces as they open their unique gifts.

    barbara macaskill says:

Crafting enriches my life in so many ways! It relaxes me and helps me to forget about my pain and troubles if only for a little while. I am homebound due to health problems and crafting is my outlet for releasing my troubles. Making something with my own hands leaves me feeling happy and relaxed. Whether I am making something for somebody in particular or just for myself takes me to another place, a place where there is no pain and all is peaceful and good. Crafting has also brought so many wonderful, supportive and talented people into my life online. Some days the only outside contact I have is with my crafty friends online. If I am having a particularly bad day all I have to do is get online and chat with them for a little while and then all is right in my little piece of the world. They have given me the confidence to show my work to people other than family and close friends. That is something I NEVER thought I would do. When I receive an order that I have placed for craft supplies it s a highlight of my day. I take them out of the box and think of all the possibilities that one stamp set opens up to me! I can travel to Paris, Australia, Alaska, see wildlife, go camping, say what I truly mean without searching for words and not even have to leave the comfort of my home. Crafting does not judge you nor look at you funny because of the way you walk. It allows you to freely let go and just be who you are.
I don’t know what I would do if I was unable to create.
This past year, on April 4th, my hand went through a window I was trying to open and I was told that I would never use my thumb, pointer and middle fingers on my dominant hand because of the tendon and nerve damage. I had surgeries to try to repair and replace nerves and tendons but it was not very successful according to the doctor. I was unable to create because of this. What a nightmare it was. One day went into my craft room and picked up stamp set and ink pad and put the stamp in my hand and forced myself to push down. After a few days off struggling I was able to actually get a good stamped image. I then practiced using markers to color it with but taping the marker into my hand and guiding it with my left hand. A few weeks later I was coloring inside the lines. YAY! After a couple months it was time to go back to the doctor’s for my follow up appointment. She was SO surprised at what I was doing with my “useless” fingers and thumb. I still have problems with some things but have come a long ways. I am almost always able to get at least a few hours of crafting in before my hand just gives out. I will take that! It is better than the other option of not being able to do any crafting at all. Throughout all of this I found out I needed open heart surgery and crafting got me through the recovery period for this also.
I guess you could say that crafting is my medicine! It has healed my “useless” thumb and fingers and also helped keep my spirits up during this lousy year! When home health came to the house during my recovery from open heart surgery she had me give her a tour of the house and after I showed her my craft room she told me that I NEEDED to spend as much time in their as possible because she could visibly see that I was so much more relaxed and calm when I was in there. I took her advice and have made it through this hellacious year and am looking forward to many more enriching experiences through my crafting in 2014 and for many years to come!
Sorry that this has turned into a novel but you DID ask how being a crafter and a part o this community added value to my life!!
Would love to win the $100 shopping spree since I am on a spending freeze because of all the extra medical costs of this past year!! I think I am comment #200 so maybe that will make it a lucky one for me!!! Fingers crossed and thanks for the chance to win!!!

But my real love of making cards is for Operation Write Home. I don’t always send as many as I like to. I look forward to a time when I can retire and spend more time doing that. It means so much to our troops to have nice cards to send to their loved ones. I do it to honor my brother, sister and Dad who all spent time away from home defending our country. I’ve been SO blessed with a wonderful and encouraging group of “real-life” crafty friends that I first met when I started scrapbooking 12 years ago. We would get together for crops and go to retreats. We always had a great time scrapbooking, chatting and of course, eating, LOL! Then I meet SO many wonderfully genuine, generous and inspiring stamping friends on-line when I fell in love with stamping and card-making. These bloggers inspired me to start my own blog to join in with card-making challenges and to be a part of this wonderful, diverse and international community…it was just SO cool!!! I’ve also had the great pleasure to be on some AMAZING DTs ;) and work along side the most amazing, talented and kindhearted designers…SO blessed and thankful for those opportunities that helped me grow my skills and evolve in my style! I’m SO thankful for all my stampin’ and crafty friends around the world. I can’t image what I would do if I didn’t stamp, make cards, share and learn from this amazing on-line community! It has forever changed who I am, for the better! <3

I love being a part of the crafting community! Without it, I seriously wouldn’t know where I would be. I have MS (Multiple Sclerosis) and I’m not able to get out of the house as often as I would like. Being able to order the stamps and dies online is a lifesaver for me and being able to communicate with other crafty ladies and gents help me stay social! Some of these have become some of my best friends! Being part of this community has literally saved my life.

Oh wow! I have SO MUCH ADDED value to my life, due to this craft :) I certainly don’t want to bore you with the W.H.O.L.E. story, but let’s just say I was always paper-crafty, I made scrapbooks when I was a young girl, and really enjoyed it – that morphed to “real” scrapbooks as an adult, starting with Creative Memories products and parties, and then BAM!, now I am a crazy card lady and make ALL my own cards (Thank YOU Teri Anderson for the inspiration). I have made some amazing friends that I paper craft with, and I watch YouTube videos EVERY DAY as I do my morning back & core exercises, and I follow a LOT of blogs (Kristina Werner, Jennifer McGuire, Teri Anderson, Lawn Fawn, and more!). I feel constantly inspired by all the blogs and videos, and I have also taught some classes at a local scrapbook & stamping store. I feel my creativity SURGING and getting BETTER constantly, and it is because of all the wonderful, giving, inspirational, creative genius people within this community! Thank you EVERYBODY for everything you have given ME! I have certainly received MORE than I have given in this community, and I am so thankful. I am continually trying to GIVE MORE and BE MORE! Thank you! Happy New Year! :)

I have NEVER in my life felt that I was a creative person, but in my 40′s I learn ed new techniques online and felt that if you could do it, I could try to do it too! And I have been successful in my creations because I no longer feel “held back” by my previous thoughts about my creativity. I also have met SO many wonderful people who are willing to share how they create their items, and give me encouragement when I am trying something new or don’t understand how to do something. It’s amazing how wonderful people can be that I’ve NEVER physically met before…but I feel like they are my friends nonetheless!!

Creating helps me relax and forget about my physical pain and gives peace to my mind. Hearing from friends is a blessing, and seeing the creations of others inspires me. I’m so grateful I’ve had this outlet in my life. Thanks again. ;-)

I am a mom to 3 awesome and hilarious kids (ages 21, 19 & 17). my 2 younger ones daughter 19 she has autism and my youngest son 17 is severely autistic with sdcp. So beside having a full time job, which I love, being a mom to 3 awesome kids… the way I wind down and explore my creative side is crafting. As I can’t draw anything recognizable, having stamps allows me to color to my hearts content. Dies mean I don’t have to cut everything out (I have to measure and make sure it is perfect or I will be driven nuts). The best part is giving a card that has been made for a specific person. There is never one ‘just right’ in the card aisle! :) Wait, maybe the best part is my husband telling me he doesn’t care how much I spend as long as I bless someone with the results. He is always mentioning people who need a card.

No one else understands the obsession like another crafter. It was some time ago that I’ve settled into paper crafting. I like card making and scrapbooking. I figure one day when I’m much older and sitting in the “home” I’ll be able to make all those trips again and again.

papercrafting and blogging have introduced me to some of the most kind people I have ever come across. they have helped me feel as if I belong and really truly matter. as I’ve been going through my cancer battle, I’ve known that I don’t walk this journey alone – I have so many friends I’ve made that I have never even met face to face, but have encouraged me daily. I can only hope that I can give them even a fraction of the love & friendship they have given to me. they have made such a difference in my life.

Over the past 8 to 10 years, I’ve become an avid card maker. I make my own Christmas cards and lots of birthday cards. Also, I make cards for a local charity which sends cards to cancer patients. Occasionally, I donate cards for fund raising efforts at my church. What started as a fun little hobby has become my passion. It is so heartwarming to know that my cards are appreciated by the recipients – my sister has saved every one I’ve sent her. I love participating in blog hops for inspiration and to see the new products being introduced. And of course, the fact that there are prizes to be won is an extra incentive. You can’t imagine how this has changed my life! For the longest time I was a business owner and raising a family as a single parent. None of the businesses I was involved with truly fulfilled me, I was just trying to give my children a fair take in life. I always told my kids to follow their passion and based on that to have a career that not only would fulfilled them but would bring them joy every single day, that is because although I have been blessed with wonderful parents my mother due to prejudices of her own told me to study anything but acting which was my passion and if I had done it maybe I wouldn’t be an actress today but would have found ART as my niche, because I consider what we do IS a form of art, so in the almost 10 years that I have been doing card making, mix media and altered wood and ornaments I have found my niche and my fulfillment. Thank you to each and everyone of you either individual blogs or online vendors because from you I have been truly happy and have pursued what truly fulfills me! Thanks for the inspiration and although I have given you most of my money buying your products, I would not change it for anything! Have a Happy New Year and thanks for the chance to win.

I am a caregiver to my hubby who has dementia. I am home most of the time and cardmaking has been a blessing in my life. I started a blog after reading so many and have met so many wonderful people! Stampers are the best. They are great at sharing their creations and tips and techniques. I’ve learned about other stamp companies from seeing cards from others and learned so much. I’m just starting to do blog hops and oh my gosh. It’s a wonderful way to meet new people. This last month I’ve been to so many new blogs. I truly love this stamp world and cannot tell you how much it has enriched my life.

I’ve always been a crafter and four years ago due to new management, I left a job that I absolutely loved. Without wanting to sound so melodramatic, it was a dark time for me & paper crafting (especially card making) and reading blogs was what kept me going and gave me a little bright spot. It also created quite an addiction, lol.

Happy New Year! I am so blessed by my hobby of cardmaking and scrapbooking. How I think I have added value is by giving back. A handmade card to someone ill to lift their spirits, especially those fighting for their lives or the soldier who is far away that can send a handmade card to their loved one through OWH are two ways I give back. How many hobbies really touch lives? Ours does! Thanks MFT.

    Lisa Norstrom says:

Crafting / cardmaking is very theraputic for me in SO MANY ways! It feels so natural for me to express myself creatively and artistically. It is one of the few areas in my life where I feel like there is no boundries, no negativity and no stress. I work full time as a cake decorator, which is creative as well, but the environment that I work in is very stressful and fast paced. When I get home and have time to get into my craft room it is a very soothing experience and easy to get lost within myself and it is peaceful and satisfying to create something that usually brings others so much joy. I have noticed and yearned for some time now to become more active in the social crafting community and have been encouraged to start a blog, computers and I do not mix too well, but I am going to explore this new to me territory a bit further in 2014. Thank you so much for the chance to win such a generous gift – I have several of your sets that I have purchased at a local scrapbook store but have never come across your blog or online site until today – love your products and great to see so many ladies with common interests and passions for creativity.

Card making has given me such confidence! All of the inspiration & tutorials I find on the web from companies such as yourself, gives me the knowledge & creativity to make cards for family & friends that I know brings joy, smiles, & hope to them! What more could I ask for! Creating these cards gives me much more in return. It is so true that giving is better than receiving. Thank you MFT & to other companies like yourself for helping me to spread happiness & cheer to others & giving me so much more in return.

    Christiana says:

Oh my goodness, what a wonderfully generous giveaway! Thank you so much for the opportunity to win. I love being a crafter because it’s such an easy way to contribute. For example, my boys and I just hand delivered 160 handmade cards to a local nursing home the Monday before Christmas. Seeing the smiles on their faces, or watching as they read the message and clutched the cards to their hearts… It’s those moments that make this worth doing. I may not have much money to donate to charities and organizations, but I can still make a difference. I can still make someone smile with a few stamped images, some paper, and some heartfelt words. And it’s this community of crafters that encourages and inspires me to keep going. There’s so much kindness amongst crafters, don’t you think? My life has been blessed beyond measure in the three years since I began paper crafting.

    Carol Perry says:

First and foremost, I thank the one above for all the technology we have today. If it weren’t for that, we would have a difficult time looking, watching, and trying all the cool techniques out there for us to learn. I enjoy visiting all these blogs everyday to see what I can create with the awesome samples you all share. I am so appreciative from all of you everyday. This makes me smile a lot.

Being a crafter gives me the ability to get away from it all and go into my own little world. I can create, and altrer at my own whim and not be judged by anyone other than myself which as we all know can be worse. If it wasn’t for crafting sometimes I actually think I would go over the edge. I am very pleased to have it and the ability to do it in my life and I am thankful for the support of my family. they think I have an addiction to crafting and maybe that true to a certain extent, but I guess it could be worse. At least at certain times of the yer others gather great joy from my creations on B-days or anniversaries. My name is Denise and I love to craft.

Happy New Year to everyone. I’m relatively new to the card making world, and I’m extremely happy to have discovered it. After relocating from Canada to the US with my husband, I discovered this hobby as a way to connect with my friends and family back home. Being away from your loved ones is definitely hard, but I found that snail mail was such a wonderful way to stay in contact. Card making also allowed me to rediscover my creativity after years of school and work. I soon discovered a whole network of card makers and blogs. The inspiration and creativity is absolutely wonderful. I love how this network of card markers are always supportive and helpful to one another.

I am a first time visitor.
I have always loved crafting. Years ago I cut my own wood projects and painted on it, selling lots of things @ craft shows. It was always so stressful getting ready for a show.
A couple years ago I found scrapbooking. It was stressful because I could never get my projects to look similar to others people’s stuff. But now I kinda have found my own way.
One of the things I do now every year is make Valentine cards (usually about 35) to be given in baskets @ my church to the elderly. It gives me pleasure knowing they are received with a smile.

2013 was one of the worst years of my life. I am just getting back into the craft room after a whole year out and being away from the online crafting community during that time feels like I’ve been locked away from my family. I wish I had tried harder at the beginning to keep up at least blog-visiting my other crafty online friends… maybe the stress would have been easier to handle once things got to their roughest. As I’ve begun popping up online again, I’ve been getting such a warm and lovely welcome back… the crafting community is full of so many wonderful, caring and compassionate people from all corners of the globe. Now it’s time to get back into the craft room with my new MFT supplies and get crafting! May 2014 be the best ever for ALL of us! =)

I am so grateful to have found this hobby–it has been a wonderful artistic outlet for me since I was disabled in a car accident and am no longer able to perform as a classical musician (flutist) nor am I able to teach and perform as a university professor. Stamping and card-making are my sanity, and I am thrilled when I create a card that seems to be above what I could do. My goal is to learn more about coloring, especially light and shading, and I look forward to seeing improvement in this area. Thank you for the opportunity to win this gift certificate–I love MFT stamps, recently bought a set and hope to find the matching die (the store where I bought the stamp set didn’t have the matching die) and to look at other sets of stamps and dies. I love it that you have matching dies for your stamps.

Wow, shut the front door! What a great way to start the year off. I make cards and for me being able to share my cards is more than making people happy. It helps me more than I ever realized it could. I am 100% disabled and there are days I can not do much of anything due to the pain. But when I am able to get in my craft room and just get my mind off me, and just get lost in creating…well, there is nothing I enjoy more!
I know that I am blessed to have found something that I love to do and then be able to share that with family and friends. I am so grateful to be able to still do what I love and to have the support from my husband. He helped me put together my craft room and even painted it a “girly” color. The days I can not be crafting, I am on the computer watching YouTube videos and going to as many blogs as I can to learn as much as I can and find great inspiration from all these great crafters. So when I am feeling better I am ready!

HAPPY NEW YEAR to Everyone at MFT!!!!

Being a crafter does add value to my life. When I give a homemade gift, I feel like I have blessed someone with my time and love. Anyone can buy a gift, but when you give your time (one of life’s most precious commodities) and make a gift, you are giving something more valuable then anything you can buy. All of us crafters are in the same kinship of people…… we truly enjoy giving of ourselves.

Thank you SO MUCH for being a part of this AWESOME blog hop!!!
What generosity of those SPECIAL ladies to offer their “fans” craft goodies!! They already give us so much when they share their creativity on their blogs. I know I am so grateful for that.

Being apart of the stamping community is a huge part of my life as I find other people sharing their ideas to be very inspiring! I get motivated by seeing all of the talent and creative ways my love for card making can bring out in others! Just when I think I’m all alone in my craft room, I’m really not as long as I can surf the web and connect with other crafters who are as passionate as I am about being creative. It’s very uplifting to me to be able to send one of my creations to a charity or another fellow crafter that I can help brighten a day…what could be better than that?!!!

Thanks for the inspiration and fun! Happy New Year!

    Happy New Year!
I am a card maker, and stuck at home with health issues, and no stamp/craft stores (the big M is a bit far), so I absolutely love receiving blog posts in my mailbox, and blog hops to see new bloggers and their creative designs. Even if I don’t feel up to creating, or many times get stuck for an idea… I am often inspired by what you all post and the videos and tutorials. Luv videos and tutorials, and seeing all the wonderful new great products! Thank you so much.

I’m fairly new to paper-crafting, but I have been thrilled to play along with challenges, give and receive comments, and hop along with blog hops. It has been wonderful to see all of the inspiring work that people do in cards, ATCs, art journals, and scrapbooks. For me, playing along and joining in the community fun with challenges is a way to recapture the artistic dialogue that I used to enjoy when taking art classes. Life has moved on and I don’t have time for art classes or big projects right now, so I am really enjoying little projects and seeing how other people interpret challenge themes. This paper-crafting community is wonderfully supportive, inspiring, and encouraging.

There is nothing more satisfying than creating something beautiful. I have always thought of myself as crafty. It took a long time to use the word artist. For me, creative time isn’t a luxury, it is a basic need.
I believe creativity is an essential part of a complete life. Not everyone expresses it the same, not every one crafts or makes art, but everyone is (or can be) in someway creative.
