Gettin’ Sentimental!

Hi all!  We’re about to begin our first What’s Up Wednesday in our SCS forum, we hope you are liking the new forum changes, and we look forward to getting to know everyone better!

Tonight we are spotlighting MFT Sentiment sets, ALL of which are on special through Friday!

I created the card above using Happiest Birthday Wishes, and really, the idea for this card spawned from a Lauren Meader creation.  I thought her idea for highlighting a sentiment set was so clever, I wanted to do something along the same line.  I am pretty pleased with the turnout!  Quick, clever and cute!

I also want to mention again that we are having a promo that will run through Sunday to benefit Alzheimer’s, you’ll get 10% off stamps during this time (YES! Even after specials!) by using the coupon code Cammie.  Read below to see the how’s and why’s, and we thank you for helping out!

Cammie's Cause

Here is a SWEET little tag Cammie created for a Craft Critique review, isn’t it precious???  As many of you know, Cammie introduced her Whimsical Autumn set through Gina K. Designs earlier this month, and is donating all her proceeds to an Alzheimer’s charity in memory of the Grandmother she lost to this disease a few months back.

My Father suffered from Dementia, of which Alzheimer’s is a form, during the last few years of his life.  It was truly painful to watch him morph into someone so completely different and unreachable. I really have empathy for those whose loved ones are afflicted, it is so overwhelming.

Cammie is having a HUGE blog candy extravaganza in honor of National Alzheimer’s Day on Sept 21st. Be sure to check it out!

I thought I’d like to help raise some funds as well in support of the cause, so what I’ve decided to do is two-fold: 1) Starting tomorrow, I am offering a 10% discount on ALL stamps on the site. Use the coupon code Cammie at checkout to receive 10% off all the stamps in your shopping cart. (It won’t discount your other merchandise, just stamps.) The coupon code will run from Wednesday, Sept 17th to Sunday, Sept 21st. 2) I will donate 10% of ALL proceeds (including money spent on other items on the site) to the National Alzheimer’s AssociationFYI – The discount applies only to retail orders…

I would also invite you to listen to a song that I have played hundreds of times since my Dad passed, and even though it’s written from a female perspective, it really gets to the heart of what loving someone with a memory condition means.  It’s called Silent House and there are two artists versions, one by Crowded House and one by Dixie Chicks, both are wonderful and I wholeheartedly encourage you to take a listen.

Did You See This?

Paula W. created this Branch Out as part of her Sept Guest Designer stint, and I wanted to make sure everyone got a second look at this baby.  Isn’t it LOVELY????  Oh my, I just about fell over when she posted it, and it wasn’t just from the Appletini I was enjoying during the party, no, it was from sheer paper poetry!

I keep trying to get her to come to FL for some one-on-one coloring tutorials, but haven’t managed it just yet.  I did manage to snatch her up for the team though…yay us!!!

Don’t forget our new MFThemed Forum Days start Monday, Sept. 15th and Rain or Shine is on special through the 15th since you’re gonna have to have it after you see all the beautiful samples on Monday.  On Friday, you’ll need Hearts Galore, and it’s currently being retired so is a special deal already!

Stamping Furniture Options!

Hey all!  I know this is a smallish pic of the brochure, but I wanted to post some info on a recent storage solution I found.  I have the large double craft pantry, and love it!  It works really well, and since it comes in unfinished wood, hubster stained it to match the rest of my office furniture.  I’ve never found such affordable stamping storage, so wanted to share it with all of you!

The company is made up of a husband and wife team, and they are just the nicest folks.  Feel free to pass this along to all to all those space challenged stampers you know!

Rain or Shine, we've picked our winner!

I made some time today to play with Rain or Shine, following this weeks sketch challenge and in celebration of the new MFThemed Forum Days beginning on Monday, Sept 15th.  The very first themed day, Who’s That Girl? Monday’s (hosted by Laura and Toni), will feature Rain or Shine, so from now until Sept 15th, it’s on sale!  Check out the site for it’s special price.

I started with a base of Memory Box Vanilla Bean, then used the Chillin’ 2 Paper Pack for my trio of squares.  The papers in the packs are extremely versatile, which I really appreciate!

Our Sept Guest Designer, Paula W., made such an impression with her unbelievable colored pencil work, that it inspired me to dig mine out and use them for this image.  She also inspired me enough to invite her to join us!  GIve her a shout out and take a gander at her gallery, and her creations for September!

I also wanted to announce the winner of the $50 Gina K. Designs gift cert, #136 Michelle!   Email me for deets at kim@mftstamps.com.  From what I hear, Cammie’s set is doing quite well, so you might wanna snatch it up before it sells out!

Branch Out Autumn Style!

Morning all!  We’ve got lots to cover today, starting with this little doozy featuring Branch Out, one of the new releases from Wed night.  I used a Fabriano note card as the base, and connected two branches together to fill the space needed.  I used 3 different inks and stamped the leaves three times to create that autumn feel I was looking for, and glittered up the bird and nest of eggs for a little sparkle.  I thought to fill you in on a little trick I discovered that helps me place the many leaf, flower options in this set.

After stamping the branch, I place the leaf/flower/etc stamp on top of the branch and play with it until I get the placement exactly correct.  Then I pick two markers (leaves in this case) and outline them with a sharpie so that I can use them to help me align the image once it’s inked.  As long as my two markers are exactly placed, the image will stamp perfect every time!  It only takes a moment to mark each of the stamps in this set, and then it’s smooth stamping!

Here is a close up of the leaves marked with sharpie.

In case you missed the release party, we are still running 1/2 price US shipping on orders over $25 till Sept 7th.  Simply enter HALFPRICESHIPPING in the coupon section to receive a discount of $2.38 on ALL orders over $25!  Feeling really needy and spending over $25?  Or live outside the US?  Never fear, enter the same coupon code for your $2.38 discount too!  We are all about equal opportunity shopping!  And DON’T forget, there’s still time to play for a spot on the MFTeam as October’s Guest Designer!  Check out THIS thread, I promise, October’s Who’s That Girl? set is one worth playing for!

Lastly, I’m gonna finish up by mentioning that Gina K. is having her release tonight, and I hope you’ll all stop by and see the new stuff!  One of my fav people, Cammie, is releasing a new set tonight as well and all her proceeds will go to benefit Alzheimer’s research. You can read all about it here. It’s a cause dear to her heart after losing her Grandma earlier this year.  My father suffered from dementia prior to him passing, so it’s a cause also near and dear to me.

In support of my dear friends, I decided to offer a treat.  I’ve purchased a $50 gift certificate to Gina K. Designs, and will select one of YOU to receive it!  Leave a comment from now till Monday morning, and I’ll choose a winner Monday afternoon.  For now, there’s a party brewing in her forum, go check it out!

Look ma, no coloring!

At least on this first card!  I thought it would be fun to create a little scene with the newest Flopsey, Who’s that Ghost? being released tonight!  You can join the party right here.  For the card, I stamped the spooky house on grey metallic paper and cut it out, made fringed grass from a green scrap (talk about some hand pain!) and stamped Flopsey once on white CS and once on a cotton sheet for his *costume*!  I am so excited about that, you have no idea!

The winner of the $25 gift cert is Maureen Wong, and her gift cert has already been emailed to her. CONGRATS!!!!

For card number two, there was MUCHO coloring!  Heavens!  This was made using the new set We’re Not Scared also being released tonight.  I did some heavy masking, but really like the rustic feel of the card.

I hope you’ll stop by during the party, I am allowing B to stay up past her bedtime to join us.  Not like she could sleep anyway, right?  I’ve also decided to sweeten the pot a little as well and offer half price shipping on all US orders over $25 until Sept 6th by entering the coupon code HALFPRICESHIPPING at checkout.

If your order is over $25 or INTL, you will still receive the $2.38 discount by entering the coupon code HALFPRICESHIPPING at checkout.

You MUST enter the code tho to receive the discount!!  All one word, all caps HALFPRICESHIPPING.

Have a great night and thanks for all the well wished you guys have sent Brianna’s way, she is beaming!
