Weekly Spotlight

The Weekly WOW has become the Weekly SPOTLIGHT!  We are making some refinements to the MFT Weekly line-up, mostly to streamline all of the fun things we do each week into a cohesive, easy to follow (and play along!) format.  Instead of a week long Weekly WOW, we are instead spotlighting either a product or a set each week.  We hope this inspires you to create with your beloved MFT sets!  Each Monday, the Weekly Spotlight will kick off with Michele Boyer, giving all of us some much needed eye candy to start the week off the right way!

Here is a little TEASE of her card, so you can head to her blog to see it in all its glory, and read her post, which I found quite humorous!

We will also be streamlining the WUW format as well, again to make it easier to follow and so that everything we do will have a cohesive, purposeful feel.  Over the next couple of weeks, and under the capable helm of Jody, watch how it all comes together!

Today we will announce the March MFT Guest Designer, so I’ll post details as soon as I have them!

Did you see this?

Sigh….the beauty above was created by Amy, and since it just brings me joy seeing it, I thought I’d share it with all of you!  It’s been awhile since I’ve done a “Did you see this?”, so now’s a great time!

I LOVE how she used an alphabet as the main image!  Bling ‘Bet is one of those sets that just *shines* when you see it in action.

There’s still time to participate in this month Guest Designer challenge, and March is a terrific month to join us!  For more info, you can read all about it HERE.

Have a great day!

Wanna join the MFTeam in March?

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=133584&d=1233802315

Each month Michelle hosts our Guest Designer contest for the coming month.  Here is her info on how YOU can join MFT for the month of March!

All you have to do is complete the challenge below and include “MFTGD15” in the keywords and link your card back to this thread. You have until 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time Sunday night ( 2/08/09 ) to complete this challenge. The winner will be selected from the entries and posted on Monday.

COLOR CHALLENGE:
Pink
Black
White
Grey
Brown

You may use any combination of the above listed colors for your card or project.

We’re looking for original and unique projects, something that makes us say “Wow – that’s so cool!!” Please make sure the project you submit is a new one and not something already in your gallery.

As a My Favorite Guest Designer, the winner will receive ALL of the new releases for March before anyone else AND will be able to post early with the design team. We will also choose 2 “Ambassadors” who will receive $15.00 MFT “cash”, PLUS they are invited to host a challenge during the next MFT Release Party!

Don’t forget to put MFTGD15 in the keyword section and make sure your project is uploaded before 10:00 pm Eastern time on Sunday.

If you have any MFT stamps, please use them on your design if you can. If you don’t have any (yet!), feel free to play along. The judging will not be based on stamps used, rather on your execution of the challenge!

February One-Click Collection

Here it is!  The February One-Click Collection!  For those that receive the newsletter, you’ll be getting individual set pics in your inbox shortly.

For those of you who aren’t in the know, each month MFT gathers all of the new sets into a One-Click Collection option on the site, and always offers an *reward* for those who faithfully order the new sets within the first 48 hours of release.

This month, the *reward* is an Annie LaPoint image (our choice) added FREE of charge to your One-Click Collection order, IF placed before midnight Friday night EST.

I don’t normally post pics of the new releases on my blog, but have been thinking it might be fun to start!  What do you think?

The Feb Hop Around the Block!

Let’s Hop Around the Block tonight…doesn’t it make you feel like singing???  Yes ma’am, it’s that time of the month again!  February is going to be so filled with new sets, and new products, and I couldn’t be more thrilled!

I am the first stop on the Hop Around the Block, and then from here you will head over to Amy’s blog.  I’m a bit embarrassed to come before Amy given her INSANE talent, but better before than after, huh?

Anyhoo…the card above features the newest MFT Presents Stephanie Fizer set, Tea for Two, and I am totally smitten with this bunny butt!!

I printed the patterned paper from the new Chocolate Kiss Digi Paper Collection, my favorite one yet.  I then added some of our Summer Ribbon Bundle grosgrain as well.  Even though it doesn’t 100% follow the MFT Sketch, it is my attempt.  I hope you’ll check out some of the past (and present) sketches for inspiration, Cindy and Frances always come up with such clever ideas!

My Favorite Things (www.mftstamps.com) is having a New Release Cocktail Party on Wednesday, Februray 4th from 9-10 p.m. EST. This month there are THREE new sets being released including a Who’s that Girl set that is GOING DIGITAL!

Head over to the MFT forum on www.splitcoaststampers.com to find out all the details and to find out how YOU can be the next MFT Guest Designer. We hope to see you there on Wednesday night.

Keep singin’ and hoppin’, and have a great day!

Bling 'Bet Bounce

Hi all!  As I mentioned in the post below, one of our new February releases is SO unique, we decided to devote a whole day to demonstrate just some of the many ways you can use it.  Jen Del Muro conceptualized this set MANY months ago, and it’s taken quite a bit of work to take it from concept to finished product.  It had to be sized perfectly, with no margin for error, and each revision had to be carefully hand tested to see how the letters actually *worked* in function, not just in theory.

It was Jody’s brainchild to have the Bling ‘Bet Bounce, to really demonstrate the unique possibilities this set has to offer.  When the set goes live Wednesday night, (or shortly thereafter) we will have a pdf downloadable tip sheet with pics and details of the uses featured in the Bounce.

I’m up first, and then you’ll mosey on over to Camster’s blog (my favorite Craphead…ask her to post a pic of the LOVELY and tasteful bracelet we made her…)

I thought it would be fun to create Valentine’s signature books for the girls that they can take to school and have all their friends sign as a longer term keepsake than a box full of Valentine’s.  Also, since B is in high school, they don’t really do a Valentine exchange, so Ithought this would gve her a chance to celebrate the holiday in a more adult way.

I am demonstrating how to use the Professional Touch HotFix Crystal Applicator along with the Adornaments Summer Collection of Crystals.  Be prepared…this is a LONG post!

The pic above shows a 6 x 6 Zutter Bind it All Cover that I have covered with glue.

This pic shows how I smeared the glue to avoid funky glue lines.

I adhered two 6 x 6 papers onto the Zutter fronts. (Note: 6 x 6 papers…stay tuned…)

Here are the covers after binding.

Here is a close up pic of the Adornments packaging, isn’t it sweet? :)

This is the Professional Touch HotFix tool we will carry in the store.

The cool thing about this tool is the on/off switch.  I love that I don’t have to unplug it!

Here is my stamped out *e* and the crystals I’ve laid out to apply.  I prefer to have them all laid out heads up before I begin.

I couldn’t seem to get a pic of how to actually pick up the crystal with the tool, but basically, you pick up the top of the crystal with the 4mm sized barrel, and allow the HotFix glue to heat up for a few seconds before placing the crystal where you want it.  I also keep a pin handy, just in case it gets stuck!

Here is a pic of the finished book for Emma!  Emma’s book uses Spring paper, crystals and ribbons.

Here is Brianna’s finished book!  Brianna’s uses Summer paper, crystals and ribbons.

CHA Hangover…

Hi all!  I am back home, without a voice, hoping with some rest it will come back soon!

We had a great time at CHA, and found many new things we will bring in as soon as they arrive.

The card above uses Hoppy Easter, and some of the Spring Paper Pack.  I cut a strip of the green striped paper and mounted it to a white 4 x 4 card front.

I then stamped several of the peeps and tulips along the bottom, I cut apart the trio of flowers to make it all work like I envisioned.  I have to admit I am most proud of the sun, which I created by stamping a portion of the scalloped frame in Punch a Bunch.  Isn’t that cool??  Simple minds have simple pleasures….

I then tied the Saddlestitch ribbon from the Spring Ribbon Bundle to complete the card.

I love it when a simple design works, and I was so excited how this turned out!

Tomorrow will be a new Who’s That Girl? challenge, so I am going to try and play along.  One of my NY intentions is to actually stamp more!

Have a great Sunday!
