Our Favorite Finds – May 5th through May 11th

As promised yesterday, here is the second week of Our Favorite Finds including creations that have been found from May 5th through the 11th!

I LOVE the way that Wendy added a sentiment to You Make The Grade and her tiny corkboard! So clever!

And check out this paper pieced beauty of a Happy Mother’s Day card from Jodi:

Jacki mass produced these stunning baby shower invites and adorable little notebook for her sister using Baby Bump. I bet you’ll agree with me that she’s got one lucky sister!

Chris also has the Mass Production bug this week, look at these amazing cards using Dinomite for a swap she’s in. I spy cork!!

MFT is sponsoring the Sketch for You To Try this week, and there have been so many amazing projects submitted with MFT for the sketch. Here’s an adorable one from Karen using Pure Innocence: My Umbrella! And look Die-namic Clouds and the Die-namic Jumbo Scallop too!

Dawn Easton has had a slew of adorable PI cards lately, but if I had to pick a favorite, it would be this one using Book in Hand, again with this week’s Sketch For You To Try…

Is the coloring on this sweet Pure Innocence: Boy and His Dog from Cindy divine or what?

Need a little Serenity Now? Check out Libby’s fun take on this week’s Mojo Monday sketch. Libby’s cards were selected as a top pick for two different challenges this week. Yeah Libby!

Layers abound, and gorgeous paper piecing on this fresh looking sample using Who’s That Girl: Call Me

Wednesday Stamp Club this past week was a fun sketch – and while there have been so many gorgeous entries, this cutie from Kerry using Book in Hand certainly caught my eye! Be sure to join us each Wednesday for a fun challenge – you’ll find us over here and since it is Wednesday, a new challenge will be posted today!

WSC – Customizing Accents to Perfect Your Project

Happy Wednesday everyone!

First up, I want to thank everyone for the most amazing MFT Release EVER.  It has been a blast, and we are happy to report that there is more cork, felt, PI sets and DIE-NAMICS already on the way!

Second, there are several sets that are back in stock, including:

All backorders on these items have been shipped, and the rest are ready to order!

Third, since we all need a little fun this hump day, how about a FREEBIE added to each order today! Yep, each order today will receive something free added, at no extra charge!

For this weeks WSC I wanted to play around with some ways of customizing your accents to match the overall feel of the project you are creating.  It can mess up a whole project when you don’t have just the right shade of paper or ribbon, huh?  Oh, the horror.

Here is a picture of all my components.

And here is how I customized them, in video form just for you!

Here’s a pic of my completed card.

See how much the extra steps really added to the overall feel of the card?  How fun!

Fab Friend Karen Motz

Happy Monday all!  I am so excited to have Karen joining us today, she’s just too talented, and too much fun!

Before I show off her A M A Z I N G project, let’s get nosy:

What is your signature move?  Is there one style or technique that seems to adorn your every creation?
I seem to have a really hard time not sewing on my cards and projects. I never used to want to sew, but then I bought my Janome Sew Mini completely by mistake (but that’s a story for another time) and now I can’t stop sewing. I love the detail it adds and it’s ‘sew’ quick (pun intended! LOL!).

What’s your favorite MFT set and why?
Seriously??? You want me to choose one??? Well, originally it’s the ‘headless girls’ as I used to call them, that caught my eye and got me hooked on MFT. They’re so different and it’s fun to imagine who each girl is while I colour them. But recently, the Pure Innocence line has stolen my heart, they’re super sweet and adorable!

What do you hoard?

Maybe a better question would be what do I NOT hoard! LOL! Like most crafters I have far too many supplies, but that’s what makes a stamp room pretty to look at, right? My twelve jars of ribbon wouldn’t be so cute if they were empty. Patterned paper…I used to have to buy two sheets because if I only had one I wouldn’t cut into it. But I’m happy to say that ever since I started blogging I’m not afraid to use my supplies…it’s all documented on my blog so I can go back and look any time. I still haven’t made a dent in my supplies and I probably never will because there’s always fabulous new things to add to my collection!  :)

Karen has completely gone way outside of the box, and completely over the moon with her project using Sheltering Tree and our Cloud Trio Die-namics Die.

You have GOT to see this close up!

You have my address, right Karen??  PLEASE stop by and tell her thanks for sharing this amazing creation with all of us!

Top Shelf Ribbon Collection

WHEW!  I’m exhausted just thinking about it!

Tonight I wanted to use my Meet Emma & Wyatt set (was there a question?) and with MUCH back-seat cardmaking from Emma, created this little ditty.

You might notice the little felt flower on the bottom, and I wanted to show you how I made it using the Jumbo Scallop Die-namics Die and our new GORGEOUS Wool/Rayon felt!

I ran my felt through my Hello Kitty Big Shot using the normal stack for thin dies.

Once it was cut, I made a slant cut of the scallops so that as I rolled my flower, the smaller part would be the flower inside, and the higher parts would be the outside petals.

Next, I started rolling the felt, and positioning it into petals.

As I got to the end, I tucked the outside piece inside.

Once I had it rolled, I plopped the bottom down onto a glue dot (thanks Jo!) so that it would all stick together.

Here’s a close up of my finished felt flower!  I added a Summer Glittered Garnish for the center.  I love how fun and easy it was to create and see a LOT of these in my future!

When the Die-namics we have on hand sell out, we will start a PRE-ORDER.  The remainder of your order will ship immediately, and your Die-namics will ship as soon as we get them in stock, which should be between 7-10 days max.  We are working closely with our manufacturer to make sure those Die-namics are in your hands as quickly as humanly possible!

Now, next up on this amazing Hop is the uber talented Julie Dinn!  I can’t wait to see what she’s got up her sleeve….  Make sure to leave a comment at every stop, you never know who has hidden candy!
