WSC – Flopsey Unfinished

Happy Wednesday to all!  This week I wanted to focus on our favorite bunny, Flopsey, but to take it a bit further and challenge you to leave him UNIFINISHED!  Yep, uncolored, unfinished, as is.  Now I know this is striking panic in the hearts of all of us coloring, paper piecing girls, BUT, the purpose of WSC is to Learn. Grow. Know., so I’m confident we CAN do this!  I will give you one little cheat…you CAN paper piece him!

I found some amazing examples from Joanne and Michele to get you started, and I believe Julie has something she’s working on as well!

This weeks WSC Challenge is:

*Use any Flopsey (DIGI’s count too!) image

*Use any main image and leave it completely colorless or paper pieced

Upload your creation to SCS using keyword MFTWSC02242010 or to your blog, and then link it back here (you can use your gallery url if you don’t have a blog) to our fabulous Mr. Linky for a chance to win a $15 gift certificate! You have until midnight Tuesday, March 2nd to play along.

Who’s ready for a SWEET TREAT? In celebration of Flopsey, you can select your favorite Flopsey set today through Friday and save $2.50!!!  (Only one per order, maximum of two orders) Enter code FLOPSEY at checkout to save on your favorite bunny.  You’ll need to add him to your cart in order for the code to work.

FREEZE Frame Day 1 – Joy Ride and CS about You

Today I’m previewing two new sets, Joy Ride from Amanda Baird and Clearly Sentimental about You, which has been the Free Triple Scoop set for Feb and will now be available on its own.

I don’t know about you, but I have ALWAYS wanted a Vespa.  I had a friend in high school that had a Moped, and she was by far the coolest chick around in my book, cause she had wheels.  And ever since then, I have secretly coveted a motorized two-wheeled dream machine.  Then along came Vespa’s, in a fancy PINK and my coveting went from secret to OUT LOUD.

Sigh.  Isn’t is just delightful?

Joy Ride is based on that secret desire of mine, and not so secret desire of Joanne’s as she already has one!

Next up is Clearly Sentimental about You, and I have to say how much I am loving bringing you beautiful, meaningful and USEFUL new sentiments each month!  it’s one of my favorite things! And this set is FILLED to the brim with sentiments you’ll use again and again and again…

I’ll be back tomorrow for a peek at some sweet cheeks!

MFT Fabulous Friend – Leigh O'Brien

Many of you know Leigh by her gorgeous work, and crazy attention to detail, making her creations truly come to life.  Having spent time with her IRL, I can attest that she is just as beautiful in person, as on PAPER and I am thrilled that she agreed to join us as a Fabulous Friend!

Here’s what Leigh has to say when asked what she secretly hoards…

A better question  for me would be, “What do I NOT hoard?”  I hoard everything!  I think  it all stems from all of these items that are available in a multitude of  colors.  What girl doesn’t need ALL of the colors for whatever it is?   So, in the past, I’ve collected {also known as hoarding!} Prima flowers.   I’ve got oodles and oodles of American Crafts ribbon spools.  I  have every color Stickles glitter glue known to man.  Oooh, I also have a  box load of Luminarte Twinkling H2Os watercolor paints.  Those are just a  few of the things crammed into the corners of my craft room.  I am just  in love with all things crafty and in all the colors of the rainbow.   BUT, my main guilt ridden “hoard” would have to be the cards that I  make.  I know….the shame of it all!  I tell myself that there  aren’t many people worthy of a handmade card creation with ribbon and glitter  and buttons…oh my.  The problem really is that I just can’t bear to  part with my little treasures.  You see…if you actually get a card from  me that must mean that I REALLY, REALLY like you!

Yup, I  do have issues…I know that the cards just must be sent.  What’s the  point in making them if you don’t give them away, right?!  Well that  would mean that I’d actually have to give up one of those hoarded envelopes as  well, now, wouldn’t it?!

She chose to work with some Pure Innocence images, and her’s what she created!

I am in LOVE with how she masked 3 sets to create this beauty!

Could this get any cuter???  Now, hop on over the Leigh’s BLOG and tell her how much you enjoyed her visit, and just how fabulous she is!

Friday Feature

Happy Friday!  I hope everyone has an amazing weekend planned!  I am heading to a Zumba class at the Y in the morning with our neighbor, and am excited and NERVOUS about it.  Not nervous about going, but about how out of shape I am right now.  Ugh.  UGH.  Then, we are meeting some dear friends and their daughters at the Skating Rink!  WOOT!  How about you?  Whatcha doin’??

I’m back with a new Friday Feature, and today it’s all about Maid for WTG.  I can not begin to tell you how much I want to be her today.  Seriously.  It’s one of those days where there is too much to do and nowhere near enough time, ykwim?

Well, at least I can live vicariously through WTG, right?  I checked out the SCS Gallery, and here’s what I found:

For this weekend, Maid for WTG is availabe for $12.50!

Happy weekend!!!

WSC – A Tisket, a Tasket, a Sweet Little Basket

For this weeks WSC, I’ve created an Easter Basket using our new Basket Template designed by Mel McCarthy, but this could easily be a treat basket (and many other things as you’ll soon learn!) as well.

I printed out my Easter Basket Template, and the Liner and Handle Templates (included) on the Easter DIGI Paper Pack.

Here is the bottom of the basket; cut, scored and glued.

Here are the inner liner pieces and handle cut and ready to add to the inside of my basket.

Here is my empty basket once all the pieces and parts are added together.

And a view from the side.

Using a nestie tag die, and some Spring Ribbon, I added a sentiment tie around the basket so that both the front and back sides are decorated.  I secured the ribbon using some Baby Braddies.

Here’s a close up of the sentiment.

Here is the front of my Easter Basket.  I used the One Sheet Wonder white cardstock as my base and colored in my bunny in very soft, pastel colors fitting for Spring.

I added Glitzy Glitter to the eggshell for extra texture and sparkle!

Then I loaded it up with Truffles!  How long do you think they will last?  I’ll give you a hint…they didn’t!

This weeks WSC Challenge is:

*Use either the Easter Basket Template, or another MFT Template

*Create something for Easter or Spring

*Use any MFT DIGI Paper Pack

Upload your creation to SCS using keyword MFTWSC02172010 or to your blog, and then link it back here (you can use your gallery url if you don’t have a blog) to our fabulous Mr. Linky for a chance to win a $15 gift certificate!  You have until midnight Tuesday, February 23rd to play along.
