WSC – Holiday Gifts in a Jiffy (Lip Balm Tutorial)

Hi all!  Welcome to another edition of Wednesday Stamp Club!

This week, we are all about Holiday Gifts in a Jiffy.  I needed some small, stylish gifts for friends, family and teachers, and here’s what I came up with:

This is one completed gift…

and here is all 8!

I started with the Simply Spring Stripes DIGI Paper Collection, and printed the pattern out on both sides of the paper.  Then, I printed the Holiday Treat Box template on the paper as well, and cut and scored as directed.

I stamped the penguin from Cool Yule and then masked him and added the ice cube.  (If you don’t already own Cool Yule, we are offering the set FREE with orders over $100 through Friday, December 18th.  Simple list COOL YULE in the comments section of your order.  You must list COOL YULE or it will NOT be added.)

Since I wanted these to be special, personalized little gifts but also wanted to make it easy on my schedule and my budget, I decided to make little Lip Balms using the Lip Balm Kit.

Here is my beeswax in the top of my double boiler.  If you don’t have an actual double boiler, nest two pots inside each other, filling the bottom pot with water.

A close up of coconut oil with my spoon inside, ready to scoop into my measuring cup.

I’ve combined the coconut oil with the beeswax in my double boiler.

My beeswax and coconut oil are all melty, and I’m ready to add my Peppermint Essential Oil.  Please make sure you are using an essential oil that is skin SAFE.  Seriously.

To fill your tins, lay them flat and spoon the melted wax/oil into each one.  These tin containers get VERY HOT, so DO NOT hold them to fill.  The Lip Balm kit makes enough for 8 containers, but if you’d like them a little creamier (and want to save some beeswax for refills) feel free to add more coconut oil and less besswax.  The recipe is just a guide.

Here is a pic of all 8 gifts!  So simple and SO STINKIN’ CUTE!

To personalize each Lip Balm, I used a 1/2 strip of the Simply Spring Striped Paper to wrap around the tin and then punched a 1 1/4″ circle of the same paper and adhered it to the tin lid top.  I used AlphaDOTS to personalize each tin so they would have something special, made just for them!  You know there are some sets you just find yourself reaching for constantly?  That’s the way it is for me with AlphaDOTS.  It’s so versatile!

Wouldn’t you LOVE to receive one of these??  I know I would!  And I might just have to save one…for personal use, ykwim? :0)

Wednesday Stamp Club and a BURSTING Bubble Bin

This week, for WSC we are all about preparing for the Holidays in a crafty, thrifty way.  Your challenge this week is Gifts in a Jar!
My Favorite Holiday Cookies

I started by layering my ingredients in my Perfect Packaging Jar.  No need to try and scramble for a pen to write it all down, we’ve taken all the homework (literally) out of creating beautiful budget friendly gifts this season!  (More on that will follow…)

I’ve got my list of supplies set out and ready to go!  I am using my Wrapped in Love set, AlphaDOTS, my 3/4″ circle punch, Copic Markers and Brilliance ink, Perfect Paper Panels, and my Glue Glider.

Here is a side view after I added some Candy Cane Kisses ribbon and a Summer button.

Here is a pic from the top, EEK!  I am in love with this!!

Here is a shot featuring the front of the recipe note card, decorated and ready for gifting.

Here is a shot of the right inside of the recipe note card.

Your My Favorite Holiday Cookie jars should cost approx. $6 including the cost of the jar, and I based my pricing on organic ingredients, so your cost could be even lower!

Supplies:
Perfect Packaging Jars
Wrapped in Love
AlphaDOTS
3/4″ Circle Punch
Candy Cane Kisses Ribbon Nest
Perfect Paper Panels
Copic Markers
Summer Buttons
Graphite Black Brilliance Ink

My Favorite Hot Cocoa Mix

Here is my jar filled to the rim with Hot Cocoa goodness.

Here is my table filled with all of my supplies.

Here is a pic from the top of my finished project.

Here is a close up up my Hot Stuff image, colored in and featuring Glittered Garnish in Chocolate Kiss.

Here is the jar filled with My Favorite Cocoa mix, a beautiful and YUMMY gift! (I created the recipe myself, and trust me, I don’t lie about food). :)

Your Favorite Hot Cocoa Mix jars should cost a bit less than $4.50 each including the cost of the jar!  WOOT!  Now that’s holiday shopping on a BUDGET!

Here is a front view and a pic of the inside of the recipe card.

All the guesswork is taken out your gift giving this year, because we’ve done the homework (literally) for you!  Simply print the downloadable recipe note cards from the site.

The left inside of the notecard serves as the ingredient list so you’ll know what and how much to add to your Perfect Packaging Jars.

The inside right of the notecard gives the recipient the directions on how to use their Gift in a Jar, and the front and back covers are ready for you to decorate as you wish!
Aren’t these beautiful!  I must say I am so stinkin’ happy with how they turned out!

Supplies:
Perfect Packaging Jars

AlphaDOTS

3/4 Circle Punch

Hot Stuff

Royalty Ribbon Nest

Chocolate Brilliance Ink

Glittered Garnish in Chocolate Kiss

Release Rewind

Happy Saturday all!  It is RAINING, raining, raining here today, so it’s a great day to snuggle with your laptop (that’s NOT where you thought I was headed, huh?) and a great cup of coffee to blurf and hang out with your virtual friends.

We are off to see a concert tonight, hubster surprised me with a date night!  WOOT!  I’m not all that familiar with the artist, but he loves her, and I love him, so it’s all good.

I thought it was the PERFECT time to go through our Release Rewind, showing off what was released last week for those who missed the fun!  MOST sets are still left, but we are sold out of Presents for You and arethisclose to being out of Merry KISSmas.  We did however receive a new shipment of Snow Day and Flurries of Love which were sold out, so there is some good news!  You can find all the Pure Innocence sets that are currently in stock right HERE.  If it’s not there, it’s sold out!

Since we are talking about Pure Innocence, let’s start there!  We released 4 new sets:

Maid for WTG

Truffles Flopsey

And I guess while I’m at it, I should also point out all the new products too!

Bath Salts Box Template

In case you are wondering about all the Kits we are offering this month, check out THIS POST for all the deets.  Here is a sample I made using the Bath Salts Box, Winter DIGI Papers, Perfect Plaid Ribbon Nest, the Lip Balm Kit and Presents for You.

WHEW!  and if that doesn’t whet your crafting appetite, and you need more inspiration, it’s not too late to Hop Around the Block to see what Team MFT has created using all these goodies!

I hope you have a wonderful, dry weekend and find a chance to stamp along with the Wednesday Stamp Club!

Introducing Wednesday Stamp Club

Hi all!   I know it’s not Wednesday, but since I introduced this in our Forum, I also wanted to post it here so that everyone could play along!

Here are the Wednesday Stamp Club deets!

Wednesday Stamp Club was created to do 3 things:
1) Give us a reason to hang out and stamp together.
2) Create something beautiful, useful and (sometimes) outside of the A2 sized box.
3) Help us Learn. Grow. Know. with MFT!

Welcome to the Wednesday Stamp Club!
Each Wednesday, (with the exception of the week prior to the release for the next Guest Designer contest) someone (generally me!) from Team MFT will post an idea, project, sample or more to inspire our creativity!

Here is a picture of this weeks FIRST Wednesday Stamp Club (hereafter referred to as WSC) completed project:

This weeks Stamp Club challenge is to use this project as a jumping board to unleash YOUR own creativity! Will you be inspired by our new template? The Pure Innocence stamps? The gingham digital paper? Get inspired and get stamping… then come back to share your creation with us. Be sure to let us know how the project inspired your creation.

One participant will be chosen at random to receive a code good for a FREE mini stamp set of their choice! Your deadline is Tuesday, December 8, at 10:00 PM. The winner will be chosen and posted along with the Stamp Club info for next week. You may enter as many times as you wish, as long as the projects are all different (who knows… we may inspire you to stamp every day). We are SO looking forward to seeing your creations!

I used:
Jody’s Bath Salts Box Template
Cream Gingham Digi Papers
Flower for You Pure Innocence Stamp
Royalty Ribbon Nest
Summer Glittered Garnish

This project box holds my baby shower gift for Emma’s teacher, Miss Mikie. Since she’s having a girl, I thought it fitting to use the sweet PI Flower Girl set, and when I chose the colors, I kept them very soft and muted to match the soft feel of a baby girl!

Here’s how I made it:

I started with the gingham DIGI paper pack and printed it out. The cool thing about digi papers is that I can print out the pattern on one side of my paper, then flip it and print the template on the back!

Here is my project stash gathered so that everything would be at my fingertips.  I’ve got my image stamped, my template, my Glittered Garnish Adornments, my Glue Glider and my Royalty Ribbon (isn’t it LOVELY?)

Here I have cut out the outer piece of my Bath Salts Box and punched out handles using a word window punch. I am thinking it would fun to try Nesties too, maybe the ribbon tag so there would be an area to tie ribbon through!

Here’s my Pure Innocence Flower Girl all colored up!

And here is the project all finished and waiting to give to the LUCKY mom-to-be!

Ready to play along for YOUR chance to WIN? Once your project is completed, list the link here, and one random winner will be selected next Wednesday!
