Today Suzy is joining us to share a lively layout full of personality and whimsical touches. Custom colored letters complete a title that’s perfectly matched to the photos and design. Time to go wild with pattern, texture, and layering!
To achieve the faded effect with the background stamping, Suzy inked only a portion of the Cheetah Background stamp. This technique adds some subtle pattern to the card stock base that is a perfect complement to the layout topic. Suzy added more custom pattern by overlapping the Striped Background to create a plaid effect, crafting a striped edge to match the cork border, and using the More Washi Patterns in conjunction with the Wonky Scallop Border Die-namics. The variation in the stamped images, such as the giraffes, is attained by first applying the lighter ink and then adding the darker around the edges.
To add some texture and dimension, Suzy used the Sunny Day Doodles Borders and Accents to piece together a border. Trimming a strip of cork to match the curvy shape is a finishing detail that bounds the layout and completes the look. Whether you’re a scrapbooker or a card maker, these are ideas you can apply to your next project. Go make something fun!
