Learn How to Make a Stitched Heart Using Embossed Lines as a Guide

We’ve got a fun tutorial to share with you today featuring the Layered Heart Die-namics. You’ll learn how to use an embossed image as a guide for stitching. You’ll be surprised at just how easy it is to hand-stitch like an embroidery pro. Adding texture and dimension with special details will elevate your cards to a whole new level.

Place your embossing mat on the cutting plate and place your card stock on top of it. Position the heart die on the card stock. Place the other cutting pad on top and run the stack through your machine.

Using a paper piercing tool and a mat, pierce in the center of each embossed hole. The embossed holes on the heart make it easy to pierce the holes evenly.

Be sure to stamp your image in the center of the embossed heart before you begin the stitching.

Grab some baker’s twine and an embroidery needle, and stitch around the heart using a back stitch. The evenly spaced holes will make your stitching look fabulous even if this is your first time picking up a needle!

Once you’ve finished your stitching, the back of your card stock will look something like this.

Be sure to use lots of foam tape to avoid any dips in the finished card front.

Now wasn’t that easy? We look forward to seeing your embossed and stitched creations.
