Hey Chica! Is the name of the first set in our new stamp line called BC Dzyns. Illustrated by Chesney Young, and brought into conception by my daughter Brianna (with help and guidance from mom). Everything about the new set and the line are fresh and funky, with plenty of ‘tude! I hope you will take a peek at what the DT is doing with this set, I am beyond impressed! Some of the regular MFT Team members were given the set, as well a newcomer or two, so keep an eye on our gallery at SCS for MFTeasers! We even have a ROCKSTAR Special Guest Designer! I am totally pinching myself! Click the link, cause you won’t believe it until you see it for yourself!
I wanted to show you a close up of the necklace I made using goodies from our Box of Bling. I strung some small seed beads and tied it behind to image to make a choker. I was pretty impressed! I also used papers from our newest paper pack, Chillin’ 1, to show that these are not just limited to seasonal cards.
Next up is our Treat Winner!!! Lisa Baggett, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org with your addy! Congrats!!
For this project, I used one of the new Annie LaPoint images, Rosemary, in a non-traditional way. Carole B. posted a DD project in last months gallery that started the old wheel a turnin. You can see it in the DD gallery for August. BUT you have to be a fan club member. Of course, since you are ALL SCS fan club members, I know you’ll rush right over and check out her Annie LaPoint bathroom trilogy!
I first painted (well, hubby really) the base of the wooden plaque white, and then stamped the Rosemary in Brilliance. I gave it plenty of dry time before coloring it in with Walnut Hollow Oil Color Pencils I picked up at Michael’s. I was able to color on the painted wood pretty easily using them, so feel they were worth the small investment. I then coated the edge of the plaque with Distress Paint in Shabby Shutters and then lightly sponged Antique Lace on the edges with Distress Ink to add depth and age it a bit. This will be a Christmas gift to some dear friends of ours and will match their guest bathroom just perfectly!
With the holidays, and a not-so-certain economy, I think it makes sense to find new ways to use both the supplies you have and (truth be told) help you justify some new ones! With the Annie LaPoint’s, it’s super simple to create a kitchen or bathroom trio of plaques or personalize a gift of herbs for an avid gardener or cook. There are so many things we can do with our papercrafting supplies in addition to handmade cards, I’m going to be exploring many ideas myself as I gear up for a low key Christmas. Hope you’ll post your ideas here as well!
DON’T FORGET! Our new release COCKTAIL party is on Wed night! Click here to find out more, and we hope to see you there!
