Karolyn is back with us today with a fun birthday card project featuring the Joy Ride Die-namics. Today, this first day of July, is perfect for a birthday project because this month marks MFT’s 8th birthday! We hope you’ll stick with us throughout the month to celebrate with us!
Well, hello again!
I’m back to share another of the projects that I created using some of the yummy June products. *Sigh* Can I just say that designing with My Favorite Things products is like a heavenly day at the spa – it just doesn’t get any better, I tell ya! Here’s my project for today.
Fun, right?! I feel like this would be a great 16th birthday card for that lucky teen guy in your life, don’t you? And, oh boy, was it fun to create!!
I wanted my “sports car” to be red and shiny, so I used the recently released Joy Ride Die-Namics to die cut the car from some glossy red card stock. I assembled the car pieces, popping some of them up with foam tape for dimension. The tail lights were die cut from glitter paper. The license plate (this is just one of several choices of fun license plates included in this set!) was die cut from Black Licorice Card Stock and glitter paper. I also trimmed out a piece of acetate for the back window. I die cut a curvy road using my Silhouette Cameo and adhered that to a white card base. I then attached the car to the base using foam tape. Since this is a birthday card, I added a black polka dot balloon (using one of the Party Balloons Die-Namics) and some crochet string. I wanted it to look like it was flying out the side window of the car. I think any newly licensed birthday boy would be extremely happy with this (especially if it came attached to a beautiful new red sports car – HA!)
That’s it for me today, my friends! I hope you’ll check out all of the MFT products that I used to create today’s project – I have no doubt you’ll have as much fun using them as I do! Thanks so much for stopping by today – and thank you to My Favorite Things for having me back. I hope I never wear out my welcome!
