I am so excited to have Jessica Fick as today’s Fab Friend! I can’t wait to show off the amazing scrapbook page she’s created, but first…let’s get nosy!!!
What is your signature move? Is there one style or technique that seems to adorn your every creation?
Hmmm… I love to embellish – thus my blog name, “i Embellish!” White space and I aren’t very comfortable together, so I love to fill my projects with ribbons, buttons, brads, stamped images, and paper punches, etc. Lately my ‘go to’ embellishments are buttons and favorite ‘technique’ is sewing, since I finally got a sewing machine that works! Patterned papers are another weakness – especially anything by October Afternoon or Basic Grey.
What’s your favorite MFT set and why?
I simply adore the Pure Innocence line of stamps! They are like trading cards to me and I MUST have them all! I love anything ‘cute-sy’, so I’ve fallen hard for all the Jolinne and Fred the Bear images as well. While I love to make cards, I also really enjoy scrapbooking so these adorable images are perfect embellishments for the books that I make for my family and friends!
What do you hoard?
What do I hoard? Hmmm… as crazy as it sounds – embellishments! I have SO MANY containers filled with certain ‘special’ embellishments like charms, decorative brads, eyelets, etc. that are just waiting for me to use on a project, but when it comes time to stamp, I always reach for my ‘stand- by’ favorites such as buttons or plain brads that I never actually get around to using the items from my stash! Periodically, I like to challenge myself by pulling out a container or two of my neglected supplies and only use those items to embellish a mini scrapbook or a set of cards.
And, don’t even get me started on my patterned paper stash… yikes! Let’s face it, some papers are just too pretty to cut and actually use, aren’t they!?
When Jess first emailed this over, she asked if it was OK as it wasn’t a card. I opened it up and after wiping the drool from my chin immediately said “YES!”, it’s more than OK. Seriously.
Jessica used Jolinne Sweet Spring on this page, but the focal point is someone ever more beautiful:
Now, after drooling with me over this gorgeousness, how about stopping by her blog and leaving her some love?
