Peek-a-Boo Giraffe: Copic Coloring with Sandy Allnock

Hello, friends, I’m Sandy Allnock, back again with my monthly coloring video. Welcome to MAY! I’m going to be creating a little ode to April in this month’s video…April the giraffe, that is!

You can keep up with the mama and baby HERE – just remember as you read this post that I wrote it all back in late April, so if the name is chosen for the baby already, that’s why I could be a little out of date!

I thought a card with mama and baby gazing at each other would be especially appropriate (though watch my instagram today for another option I considered and rejected. LOL!) In the video I show you how to make the leaves from mama’s tree look like they’re spilling out onto the front of the card – with the awesome help of the MISTI!

With the paper used, I didn’t want a lot of color showing through – so I kept it to as simple coloring as I could. No blending, just lots of adorable bright Copic colors! To find colors in your collection that are the most intense, look for ones with a low first-digit – when the number has a 0 or 1, it’s the most intense (least dull) version of that color!

And I always love it when a card has an extra surprise inside, don’t you?

I’ll be back again next month….I can’t wait to see what MFT will come out with for coloring next!

I didn’t order that stamp set, now I really regret it. I love this card. It reminds me of the Dr. Seuss book–Put Me In the Zoo-one of my favorites when I was growing up. Guess I will place another order.
