WSC – Flopsey Unfinished

Happy Wednesday to all!  This week I wanted to focus on our favorite bunny, Flopsey, but to take it a bit further and challenge you to leave him UNIFINISHED!  Yep, uncolored, unfinished, as is.  Now I know this is striking panic in the hearts of all of us coloring, paper piecing girls, BUT, the purpose of WSC is to Learn. Grow. Know., so I’m confident we CAN do this!  I will give you one little cheat…you CAN paper piece him!

I found some amazing examples from Joanne and Michele to get you started, and I believe Julie has something she’s working on as well!

This weeks WSC Challenge is:

*Use any Flopsey (DIGI’s count too!) image

*Use any main image and leave it completely colorless or paper pieced

Upload your creation to SCS using keyword MFTWSC02242010 or to your blog, and then link it back here (you can use your gallery url if you don’t have a blog) to our fabulous Mr. Linky for a chance to win a $15 gift certificate! You have until midnight Tuesday, March 2nd to play along.

Who’s ready for a SWEET TREAT? In celebration of Flopsey, you can select your favorite Flopsey set today through Friday and save $2.50!!!  (Only one per order, maximum of two orders) Enter code FLOPSEY at checkout to save on your favorite bunny.  You’ll need to add him to your cart in order for the code to work.

WSC – A Tisket, a Tasket, a Sweet Little Basket

For this weeks WSC, I’ve created an Easter Basket using our new Basket Template designed by Mel McCarthy, but this could easily be a treat basket (and many other things as you’ll soon learn!) as well.

I printed out my Easter Basket Template, and the Liner and Handle Templates (included) on the Easter DIGI Paper Pack.

Here is the bottom of the basket; cut, scored and glued.

Here are the inner liner pieces and handle cut and ready to add to the inside of my basket.

Here is my empty basket once all the pieces and parts are added together.

And a view from the side.

Using a nestie tag die, and some Spring Ribbon, I added a sentiment tie around the basket so that both the front and back sides are decorated.  I secured the ribbon using some Baby Braddies.

Here’s a close up of the sentiment.

Here is the front of my Easter Basket.  I used the One Sheet Wonder white cardstock as my base and colored in my bunny in very soft, pastel colors fitting for Spring.

I added Glitzy Glitter to the eggshell for extra texture and sparkle!

Then I loaded it up with Truffles!  How long do you think they will last?  I’ll give you a hint…they didn’t!

This weeks WSC Challenge is:

*Use either the Easter Basket Template, or another MFT Template

*Create something for Easter or Spring

*Use any MFT DIGI Paper Pack

Upload your creation to SCS using keyword MFTWSC02172010 or to your blog, and then link it back here (you can use your gallery url if you don’t have a blog) to our fabulous Mr. Linky for a chance to win a $15 gift certificate!  You have until midnight Tuesday, February 23rd to play along.

WSC – Love Birds – 3 Different Looks (02.10.10)

This week on Wednesday Stamp Club, we are all about L*O*V*E. We’ve got 3 cards, all created with Love Birds and featuring the Chocolate Kiss Collection of Papers, Ribbons, & Crystals.

Come play along with us for a chance to win a $15 gift certificate to the MFT Store!

Starting simply, I stamped my bird couple (don’t ya LOVE her foot up in the air!) and tree in Chocolate Brilliance.  I made a three layer flower using Nesties and then added some Sweet Thing Glitzy Glitter on the hearts.

Here’s a close up of my flower with a tiny Chocolate Kiss Button!  You can kinda see some of the Glitzy Glitter too.

Stepping it up slightly, with this card I used just the tree image, and punched tiny flowers out of Chocolate Kiss papers and attached them to my tree.

Here’s a close up of the tree so you can see the dimension of the flowers I popped up.  I also added some Chocolate Kiss Crystals to dot the “i’s” in the sentiment.

For this card, I stepped it up a bit and added some felt clouds using the Labels #6 Nestie Dies, some larger Chocolate Kiss Buttons and some Chocolate Kiss Baby Braddies.

Your WSC Mission…

Doesn’t that sound so “official”?  There are many ways you can play this week, and here are a few starters:

  • Use Love Birds
  • Use any products from the Chocolate Kiss Collection
  • Create Valentine cards
  • Use one of the layouts from these 3 cards

Isn’t that simple?  Remember, Wednesday Stamp Club is about inspiring your creativity, and should be used as a jumping off point, not as a “should”.

When you’ve finished your project, post it to your blog or the gallery on SCS using keyword MFTWSC021010.  Then pop over the to MFT Blog and leave a link on our Mr. Linky!

If you don’t have a blog, you can use the URL of your gallery post as your Mr. Linky link!

One Sheet Wonder is HERE

And guess what?  They even have Watercolor Cardstock too!

Don’t worry, we will continue to carry our famous Paper Panels (and have more on the way!) but want to offer YOU every goodness we can find!

Wednesday Stamp Club – 1.27.10

Hi everyone!

Kim asked if I’d host this week for Wednesday Stamp Club!  This week, I’ve prepared a little video for you too which you can find HERE.  The challenge, is to use your MFT Stamps to create a piece of altered art/home decor.  I just love filling my house with little bits here and there.  Its so much more fun (and less expensive) than buying something ready made from the store. And besides, you get to show your stamps some love!

Here’s my sample using MFT’s Bling Bet and the MFT Perfect Plaid Ribbon.

This week’s chatter thread has been set up, I’d love to chat with you, so please come on by!  You can meet us here:

To enter this week’s challenge – you’ll need to create your own piece of altered art and upload it to your blog, or your online gallery if you don’t have one.  Add the URL of your piece to the Mr Linky below.  Entries will be accepted until Tuesday, February 2nd at Midnight EST.

How could I forget to add the winner of last week’s texture challenge…. drum roll please…. congratulations to Chris! I just LOVE the ruffled treatment around her card, and that cuttlebug moon. So very sweet!

See you on the forum!!

((hugs)))

Joanne

WSC – Birthday Card Bonanza (1.13.10)

Welcome to the first Wednesday Stamp Club of 2010!

This week we are creating quick, simple and fun birthday cards. I always find myself needing a birthday card, and inevitably end up making one at the last second possible, so would like to get a jump start this year!

This weeks Stamp Club is not only about getting organized, but also shows how to use open line art images WITHOUT coloring them in!

MFT is known for its open line art images, and while that’s a plus when you are as addicted to coloring as I am, it does not come in handy when you have 15 minutes to make a card.

To make it super simple, I’ve created 4 (yes, read it and weep, 4!) cards using MFT images and did NO coloring. Heck, I took it one step further and even added a video! See how thoughtful I am?

Thoughtful, yes; videographer, no. This is my first ever video, and as it turns out I have MUCH to learn about iMovie. Sigh. But there’s always tomorrow…

If you’d like to see it a bit larger, or subscribe to the MFT Channel, HERE is a link to YouTube.

Here are pics of the four cards I created for this weeks Birthday Card Bonanza:

This week make sure to upload your creation to the SCS gallery by using keyword MFTWSC011310 AND/OR upload it to your blog. Either way, head back here and link it below in our Mr. Linky box for your chance to win a PRIZE!  What can you win?  A $15 gift voucher to the MFT Store!

Are you ready for this weeks Scoop Special?  We’ve got two!  How’s that for a treat?

*Wednesday Only – ALL orders receive a FREEBIE!  Something fun, fabulous and FREE!

*Wednesday through Sunday – All orders receive a FREE Single Digi Paper Pack!  Add the single paper pack you would like to your cart and enter code GETDIGI at checkout to deduct $3.00.

You MUST add your selection to your cart or you will not receive it.

You MUST add the code GETDIGI in the area that says discount codes/gift vouchers or your order total will not be discounted.

FREEZE Frame Day 3 & Wednesday Stamp Club

Happy Wednesday!  I am back this morning after spending most of yesterday with Brianna, as she turned 17.  The most fun part of the day was arriving home after shopping with her and her other mother, our next door neighbor (doesn’t every girl need two mothers?), and hearing her scream when she saw what was in the driveway!

With much help from our next door neighbors, we surprised her with an older Honda Civic as her fist car.  I am honestly so tired of hauling her everywhere, and she is such a good kid that we just found a way to make it happen.  It’s certainly not a car from my “Sweet 16″, but it’s nicer than my first car (and several after my first too!).  And, it comes complete with Hello Kitty seat covers and a steering wheel cover, so she’s in Heaven!  Happy 17th B, I am honored to be your Mom!

And now that the gushy stuff is over, are you guys ready for todays FREEZE Frame???  I thought you might be!  Although it comes with its own gushy story…

FREEZE Frame Day 3

Here is one of the 5 new Pure Innocence sets we will be introducing.  There are 2 NEW characters joining MFT Pure Innocence family in January as well, so be prepared to be attacked with cuteness!

This set, Start the Day with “Whee” was designed in concept by my hubby, Martin, based on our youngest daughter, Emma.  Brianna’s school starts about 45 minutes before Emma’s does, so when the weather is nice Martin takes Emma to the local park during that time.  Emma runs and plays, but saves the very best for last…the SWING.  Papa (as she calls him) will push her on the swing, and she throws her head back and yells “whee”!  Martin came home one afternoon and suggested to base a PI set on his morning ritual with Emma, and even suggested the sentiment, Start each day with “whee”!.  Isn’t that cool???  Who says men don’t get it…

If you’d like to WIN one of these little beauties, list your info in the Mr. Linky box below.

Wednesday Stamp Club (12.23.09)

Hi all!  It is SO hard to believe that Xmas is just around the corner!  Who’s prepared?  Not me…Sigh.

I am back with another WSC challenge, featuring another FREE TEMPLATE, to make either a shaped Mushroom card or a Fairy Wings card!  Woot!  I think you guys are liking the templates, huh??  Anything to make life simpler…and avoid measuring.  I am SO NOT a math girl.  I abhor trying to figure out card measurements.  I {heart} printing something off and cutting it and having it turn out beautiful!

Isn’t she cute??  Oh how I love Pure Innocence!  They remind me so much of Emma!

Let’s get started:

Here I have gathered all of my supplies.  I used the Simply Spring DIGI Papers in Gingham, Fairy Girl PI set, Royalty Ribbon Nest and some wire.

I printed out two of the templates, cut one out at full size, and then cut the second, purple layer out at a smaller size so it would layer well with the full sized wings.

To make my antenna, I took two equal pieces of wire and curled them around my fingertip.  Then, I taped them to the back of my smallest pair of wings, before adhereing the two sets of wings together.

Here is a picture of both wings, with the antenna between them.

Here’s a close up on my sweet cheeked PI girl all colored and ready to go!

Here is the template as a mushroom.  I love how versatile it is!  I know there are a couple of other DT Members who’ll be posting samples as well, so make sure to check out the GALLERY and when uploading your creation, use keyword MFTWSC122309.

Here are the Scoop Specials, now through Thursday!

*Want 33% MORE for your money? Purchase any 2 Gift Vouchers and receive a 3rd gift vouchers of equal value FREE!  Your gift vouchers will be emailed to you separately.  You can forward them to all your favorite  Stampers or hoard them for yourself!

*All orders OVER $25 receive 2 FREE DIGI Stamps!  Enter code 2HolidayDIGIs at checkout to receive the $6.00 discount.  You MUST add your 2 DIGI Stamps to your cart when ordering for the discount to be valid.

WSC – Holiday Gifts in a Jiffy (Lip Balm Tutorial)

Hi all!  Welcome to another edition of Wednesday Stamp Club!

This week, we are all about Holiday Gifts in a Jiffy.  I needed some small, stylish gifts for friends, family and teachers, and here’s what I came up with:

This is one completed gift…

and here is all 8!

I started with the Simply Spring Stripes DIGI Paper Collection, and printed the pattern out on both sides of the paper.  Then, I printed the Holiday Treat Box template on the paper as well, and cut and scored as directed.

I stamped the penguin from Cool Yule and then masked him and added the ice cube.  (If you don’t already own Cool Yule, we are offering the set FREE with orders over $100 through Friday, December 18th.  Simple list COOL YULE in the comments section of your order.  You must list COOL YULE or it will NOT be added.)

Since I wanted these to be special, personalized little gifts but also wanted to make it easy on my schedule and my budget, I decided to make little Lip Balms using the Lip Balm Kit.

Here is my beeswax in the top of my double boiler.  If you don’t have an actual double boiler, nest two pots inside each other, filling the bottom pot with water.

A close up of coconut oil with my spoon inside, ready to scoop into my measuring cup.

I’ve combined the coconut oil with the beeswax in my double boiler.

My beeswax and coconut oil are all melty, and I’m ready to add my Peppermint Essential Oil.  Please make sure you are using an essential oil that is skin SAFE.  Seriously.

To fill your tins, lay them flat and spoon the melted wax/oil into each one.  These tin containers get VERY HOT, so DO NOT hold them to fill.  The Lip Balm kit makes enough for 8 containers, but if you’d like them a little creamier (and want to save some beeswax for refills) feel free to add more coconut oil and less besswax.  The recipe is just a guide.

Here is a pic of all 8 gifts!  So simple and SO STINKIN’ CUTE!

To personalize each Lip Balm, I used a 1/2 strip of the Simply Spring Striped Paper to wrap around the tin and then punched a 1 1/4″ circle of the same paper and adhered it to the tin lid top.  I used AlphaDOTS to personalize each tin so they would have something special, made just for them!  You know there are some sets you just find yourself reaching for constantly?  That’s the way it is for me with AlphaDOTS.  It’s so versatile!

Wouldn’t you LOVE to receive one of these??  I know I would!  And I might just have to save one…for personal use, ykwim? :0)

To play along, and for your chance to win, upload your project using keyword MFTWSC121609 by midnight December 22nd.  Enter below using Mr. Linky for a chance to win a FREE MINI set! ($9 voucher)

This weeks Scoop Specials are:

* Every order over $25 will receive a FREE Single DIGI Paper Pack (I used Simply Spring Stripes for my card, above).  You MUST add your selected SINGLE DIGI PAPER PACK ($2.95 value) to your cart.  Then, in the COUPON/DISCOUNT area at checkout, enter code DIGISINGLE (cap sensitive) to receive your $2.95 discount. Valid through December 22, 2009.

* Every order OVER $100 will receive a FREE COOL YULE stamp set!  You MUST list COOL YULE in the COMMENTS SECTION to receive your free set.  It will not be added if you don’t list COOL YULE in the comments section. Valid through December 18, 2009 ONLY.
