WSC – K.I.S.S. (4.28.10)

This week we are Keeping It Super Simple with the Wednesday Stamp Club, are you on board?

So often I get wrapped up in creating the biggest and best, most elaborate production of a card I never quite get it made.  Am I the only one?  I hope not!

This week, I’ve created a SUPER SIMPLE card featuring Happy Mail.

And I’ve decided to offer something FUN today. Today ONLY, everyone who purchases Happy Mail will receive the paper to create their very own super simple card!

A fossil notecard, a paper panel, bubblegum panel and chocolate kiss hearts panel, all cut to size and ready to glue.

If you’d like to chat along with the MFT bunch, join us in our Member Company Forum right HERE.

WSC – Earth Day Fun (04.21.10)

Hi all!  I’m back with all the deets and a million pictures for Wednesday Stamp Club, are you ready?

Excellent!  I love an enthusiastic crowd!

This week I wanted to use our newest Stephanie Fizer set, Sheltering Tree, and since Earth Day is right around the corner, I thought I could combine the two.  I really struggled all week long for inspiration, but literally as I was lying in bed it came to me!  I thought about one of my favorite childrens books of all time, The Giving Tree, by Shel Silverstein, and then an idea started to form.

I LOVE the premise of The Giving Tree, and decided I could take the lovely sentiment and tweak it a bit and create something for my daughters.

Hubby helped me find a perfect branch in the yard, and then he nailed it to a small piece of wood so it would stand upright.

Using the Sheltering Tree DIGI Paper Pack & the new Template, I printed the bottom box and bottom box liner onto the backs of my green striped DIGI papers.  That’s the coolest thing about DIGI Papers!  Patterned Papers don’t generally come in 8.5 X 11 sizes, so with DIGI’s I can have patterned papers for template use!

After my box bottom is complete and lined, I wanted to add a little something to the sides to finish it, so I cut four pieces of the brwon striped DIGI papers and then scored them so that they’d fold over the edges on my box nicely.

Here’s a close up of the scalloped edges glued on the box side.

Here’s my completed box bottom.

We put the branch in a small gusset bag and added some dirt so you wouldn’t see the wood stabilizing the branch.

I put the tree in the box, tied it with some brown suede from our Coffee and Cream ribbon collection, and added some shred to the top to completely cover the bag.

Then using the green striped paper from the DIGI pack and my 1 3/8″ punch, I punched out about a dozen circles.

I folded all the circles in half.

Then I trimmed around the edge to create…

LEAVES!  I am SO proud of myself for this idea.  I’m sure it’s been done a million times before, but it was my first time, and I’m excited!

Here’s my completed pile of leaves.

On the back of each leaf I wrote little love notes to the girls!

Then I punched small holes in the bottom of each leaf and tied them to the branches using the twine from the Bakery Blend Ribbon collection.

I created a little panel to complete the back of the project.  I embossed my large tree circle on the green striped DIGI paper, stamped the tree on my brown striped paper (look Ma, no coloring!) and then mounted it on the sky paper panel.  I colored the owls and popped them on the tree.

I then mounted the panel to the back of my tree box.

They have a tree filled with love notes from a mom who loves them dearly!

Don’t you want to play along?

WSC – Patchwork Easter (03.31.10)

Happy Wednesday all! I’m back with another edition of Wednesday Stamp Club, and today we are making good use of all those bits and scraps of paper lying on our (or maybe just mine?) desk top!

Here is my completed patchwork Easter card featuring What’s Crackin:

To create the patchwork panel, I punched 8 squares from the Spring Paper Pack and glued them onto my Sour Apple panel. I didn’t glue anything in the center because I knew my main image would go on top.

Then, I ran the patchwork panel through my Big Shot with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. It really made it look complete, and pulled it all together!

Your WSC Challenge this week is:
1) Create your own patchwork panel and incorporate it into your project

2) Create a card using my layout

When you’ve finished your project, post it to your blog or the gallery on SCS using keyword MFTWSC033110. Then pop back over to the MFT Blog and leave a link on our Mr. Linky! (If you don’t have a blog, you can use the URL of your gallery post as your Mr. Linky link.)

Come play along with us for a chance to win a $15 gift certificate to the MFT Store.

WSC – Glitzy Glitter (03.24.10)

Hi all! I’m back with a new Wednesday Stamp Club Challenge, creating unique and fun embellishments with Glitzy Glitter.

We all know how to add “snow” to a rooftop, or “icing” on a cake or cupcake, but this week let’s think a little more creatively and see what uses we can find for Glitzy Glitter.

Here is the card I created:

I decided to create a glittery sun and some glittery grass for my project. I basically I cut a small white panel, coated it in Diamond Glaze and covered it in the Spring Glitzy Glitter. I allowed it to dry thoroughly, then snipped the paper to create little blades of grass.

Here’s a close up of the grass:

For my second example, I have to admit I am tickled pink over this one, I used a foam dot as my flower center, and then added glitter on top of the foam dot (after exposing the adhesive) to create a glittery flower center. I can’t show you the whole card because the image won’t be released until April 7th, but I can “bear-ly” wait until I get to introduce you to this sweet fellow!

Supplies Used:
An Apple for You
Spring Paper Pack
Skinny Spring Ribbon
Spring Glittered Garnishes
Perfect Paper Panels
Spring Glitzy Glitter
Glitzy Glitter

Your WSC challenge this week is:

1) Create a custom embellishment using Glitzy Glitter (or glitter of your choosing)

2) Create a card or project featuring hand snipped grass

3) Create a card using my layout

WSC – Go GREEN

For this weeks Wednesday Stamp Club, we are going green!  But maybe not in the way you are thinking…what with St, Patrick’s Day right NOW.  I am using the term in the reduce, recycle, reuse category.

You might remember the card I posted in yesterday’s VIP WTG Hop, but what I didn’t mention is the fact that I’d used a page from Emma’s Hello Kitty coloring book!  Can you see it??

Can you see it now???  Yes, Emma had colored away, but on this side, the page was this interesting grid that I thought would work on this shabby baby card.  Clever huh?  And you thought all that artwork was for naught?  LOL!

So your challenge this week is:

1) Reuse or recycle anything you can find that would work on your project

2) Use green or anything with a St. Patrick’s Day theme

When you’ve finished your project, post it to your blog or the gallery on SCS using keyword MFTWSC031710.  Then pop back over here, to the MFT Blog and leave a link on our Mr. Linky!  (If you don’t have a blog, you can use the URL of your gallery post as your Mr. Linky link.)

Come play along with us for a chance to win a $15 gift certificate to the MFT Store.

And would you like to know who won this week? It’s Sonja with this beautiful creation!

WSC – Flopsey Unfinished

Happy Wednesday to all!  This week I wanted to focus on our favorite bunny, Flopsey, but to take it a bit further and challenge you to leave him UNIFINISHED!  Yep, uncolored, unfinished, as is.  Now I know this is striking panic in the hearts of all of us coloring, paper piecing girls, BUT, the purpose of WSC is to Learn. Grow. Know., so I’m confident we CAN do this!  I will give you one little cheat…you CAN paper piece him!

I found some amazing examples from Joanne and Michele to get you started, and I believe Julie has something she’s working on as well!

This weeks WSC Challenge is:

*Use any Flopsey (DIGI’s count too!) image

*Use any main image and leave it completely colorless or paper pieced

Upload your creation to SCS using keyword MFTWSC02242010 or to your blog, and then link it back here (you can use your gallery url if you don’t have a blog) to our fabulous Mr. Linky for a chance to win a $15 gift certificate! You have until midnight Tuesday, March 2nd to play along.

Who’s ready for a SWEET TREAT? In celebration of Flopsey, you can select your favorite Flopsey set today through Friday and save $2.50!!!  (Only one per order, maximum of two orders) Enter code FLOPSEY at checkout to save on your favorite bunny.  You’ll need to add him to your cart in order for the code to work.

WSC – A Tisket, a Tasket, a Sweet Little Basket

For this weeks WSC, I’ve created an Easter Basket using our new Basket Template designed by Mel McCarthy, but this could easily be a treat basket (and many other things as you’ll soon learn!) as well.

I printed out my Easter Basket Template, and the Liner and Handle Templates (included) on the Easter DIGI Paper Pack.

Here is the bottom of the basket; cut, scored and glued.

Here are the inner liner pieces and handle cut and ready to add to the inside of my basket.

Here is my empty basket once all the pieces and parts are added together.

And a view from the side.

Using a nestie tag die, and some Spring Ribbon, I added a sentiment tie around the basket so that both the front and back sides are decorated.  I secured the ribbon using some Baby Braddies.

Here’s a close up of the sentiment.

Here is the front of my Easter Basket.  I used the One Sheet Wonder white cardstock as my base and colored in my bunny in very soft, pastel colors fitting for Spring.

I added Glitzy Glitter to the eggshell for extra texture and sparkle!

Then I loaded it up with Truffles!  How long do you think they will last?  I’ll give you a hint…they didn’t!

This weeks WSC Challenge is:

*Use either the Easter Basket Template, or another MFT Template

*Create something for Easter or Spring

*Use any MFT DIGI Paper Pack

Upload your creation to SCS using keyword MFTWSC02172010 or to your blog, and then link it back here (you can use your gallery url if you don’t have a blog) to our fabulous Mr. Linky for a chance to win a $15 gift certificate!  You have until midnight Tuesday, February 23rd to play along.

WSC – Love Birds – 3 Different Looks (02.10.10)

This week on Wednesday Stamp Club, we are all about L*O*V*E. We’ve got 3 cards, all created with Love Birds and featuring the Chocolate Kiss Collection of Papers, Ribbons, & Crystals.

Come play along with us for a chance to win a $15 gift certificate to the MFT Store!

Starting simply, I stamped my bird couple (don’t ya LOVE her foot up in the air!) and tree in Chocolate Brilliance.  I made a three layer flower using Nesties and then added some Sweet Thing Glitzy Glitter on the hearts.

Here’s a close up of my flower with a tiny Chocolate Kiss Button!  You can kinda see some of the Glitzy Glitter too.

Stepping it up slightly, with this card I used just the tree image, and punched tiny flowers out of Chocolate Kiss papers and attached them to my tree.

Here’s a close up of the tree so you can see the dimension of the flowers I popped up.  I also added some Chocolate Kiss Crystals to dot the “i’s” in the sentiment.

For this card, I stepped it up a bit and added some felt clouds using the Labels #6 Nestie Dies, some larger Chocolate Kiss Buttons and some Chocolate Kiss Baby Braddies.

Your WSC Mission…

Doesn’t that sound so “official”?  There are many ways you can play this week, and here are a few starters:

  • Use Love Birds
  • Use any products from the Chocolate Kiss Collection
  • Create Valentine cards
  • Use one of the layouts from these 3 cards

Isn’t that simple?  Remember, Wednesday Stamp Club is about inspiring your creativity, and should be used as a jumping off point, not as a “should”.

When you’ve finished your project, post it to your blog or the gallery on SCS using keyword MFTWSC021010.  Then pop over the to MFT Blog and leave a link on our Mr. Linky!

If you don’t have a blog, you can use the URL of your gallery post as your Mr. Linky link!
