What is your favorite current MFT product? A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 1 – I love the finished look of the faux stitching on my cards and there are a ton of great sizes in this set.
What is your all-time favorite MFT product? It’s so hard to pick just one, but I’d have to go with the English Brick Wall Stencil – I love brick patterns and there are so many fun ways to use this stencil.
What are your hobbies when you’re not creating MFT masterpieces? I love creativity in all forms – colouring, felt flowers, painting, etc…I also love to read, camp, and watch Nascar.
Please share a favorite MFT project you’ve created: I have really been enjoying colouring scenes with my Copic markers so my favourite card would have to be this Peace card I created a few weeks ago.

What location do you call home? I live in Shizuoka prefecture in Japan, which is nearby Mt. Fuji. I can see beautiful snow-capped Mt. Fuji almost every day in this season of the year.
What is your favorite current MFT product? A2 Rectangle STAX and A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX! I think I can’t even make a card without them. I keep them in the very front of my Die-namics storage container so I can reach them quickly.
What is your all-time favorite MFT product? You might not know it, but I’m the illustrator of Birdie Brown stamp sets. So my all-time favorite MFT products are BB stamp sets & Die-namics, if I do say so myself. And also, I LOVE the products for making interactive cards, like Slider Elements, Spin & Slide Discs, and the Die-namics to cut slider channels.
What are your hobbies when you’re not creating MFT masterpieces? I love watching sports on TV. From baseball, football, and volleyball to figure skating, I watch various kinds of sports even though I don’t like playing sports at all. LOL.

What is your all-time favorite MFT product? Goodness, how’s a girl supposed to choose? MFT has amazing products! I would say that the beautiful selection of word dies tops my list. Flower stamp sets and Die-namics too. I’m a little biased, but I really do enjoy using Scribble Flowers.
What are your hobbies when you’re not creating MFT masterpieces? Anything that connects me to my daughters! Reading, art, going to theatrical productions. I love to be in the outdoors with my family too. Hiking, camping, trail walks, etc. Mountains and beaches have my heart, especially when my husband and girls are with me. In addition to the fun collaboration you’ll find below, we have some exciting news to share today. Amy Yang has done some fabulous guest posts for us in the past, both here on the MFT blog as well as on our Challenge & Inspiration blog. You may also recognize her as one of our 2016 Card Design Superstar alumni. Today, we’re thrilled to announce that she’s agreed to become a permanent member of the MFT team.
You’ll start seeing her regular design team contributions tomorrow when we begin our November Release Countdown (it’s a good one!) Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Amy as the newest member of the MFT family!
We were so pleased to contribute the Good Friends stamp set and Die-namics, designed exclusively for Ellen Hutson, as part of their United We Flourish campaign. Today on the Ellen Hutson blog, design team member Karolyn is being featured in their latest Mix It Up Challenge. She’s created the darling treat package shown below that combines Good Friends with an inspiring mix of MFT and EH products. You’ll definitely want to head to the Ellen Hutson blog to see more AND learn how you can win a $50 gift voucher to the Ellen Hutson store!
Now that it’s November, and we’re undeniably creeping into the proper holiday season, having some great ideas for easy treat packaging in your back pocket is always a good idea. We think this sweet project from Karolyn is a wonderful way to present delightful little treats to a wide array of recipients. Thanks for joining us and enjoy your time on the Ellen Hutson blog today!
This industry is full of kind-hearted, supportive, encouraging people and companies. Time after time, it’s shown that together is better than apart and we are so proud to share a creative space with so many incredible examples of goodness. We’re happy to be able to play a part in Ellen Hutson‘s United We Flourish series.
From Ellen Hutson:
Last November we began celebrating our 10th anniversary with the theme United We Flourish. And what does United We Flourish mean? It means that our company would not be here without the amazing companies we work with, the designers who create stunning projects showcasing the wonderful products being created AND you, our fabulous customers! YOU are such a vital part of our creative community – you inspire & encourage us! Your response to United We Flourish was overwhelming and heart-warming. We heard repeatedly from you that you appreciate how our little company works together with the other manufacturers we carry to bring you their products and education showing how to use those products. To thank you for your constant support and encouragement, we have partnered with some of our friends to offer exclusive limited edition stamp & die sets!!! These sets will be available for a limited time (most likely 3-6 months) after each release, depending on how quickly you snap them up. The theme of these stamps sets are uplifting and fun.
We are thrilled to present the third one to you…Good Friends by My Favorite Things exclusively for Ellen Hutson LLC.
Our contribution to United We Flourish is the Good Friends stamp and Die-namics combo. It features an adorable assortment of cats and dogs that have somehow managed to put their differences aside and just be friends 😉.
How fun is it to see all of these beautiful MFT + EH faces intermingling? If you’re as excited as we are to see how the MFT and Ellen Hutson teams played with Good Friends, get your clicking finger ready — these ladies have knocked it out of the park!
Phew — what a fun day we’ve had. It’s not quite over yet though. We hope you’ve had a chance to pop on over to our MFT Insiders Group and Instagram!
Our final challenge of the day and undoubtedly, the most important. If you’re playing catch-up, you can find our 9 AM challenge HERE, our noon challenge HERE, and our 3 PM challenge HERE.
Challenge 4: MAKE & MAIL
Make a card. Mail a card. Do it now and don’t delay. OK, OK, you don’t have to rush out the door right this second but really, make it, address it, stamp it, and pinky-swear that you’ll drop it in the mailbox the first chance you get! We trust you.
Having a stash of just-in-case cards is always a good idea. Making sure you actually spread the love you’re creating is an even better idea!
Let us count the ways that card making enriches our lives…the creative outlet, the ability to express our feelings in a tangible way, showing friends and loved ones that they’re important to us in so many ways. Shall I go on?
We’re up to 1…2…challenge #3! If you’ve missed earlier challenges, you’ll find our 9 AM challenge HEREand our noon challenge HERE.
Challenge 3: BY THE NUMBERS
Create a card that features a number in a prominent way. It can be a die-cut number, a stamped number, or even the representation of a number (five cute frogs for a favorite five-year-old’s birthday, perhaps?)
Using text as a design element is always a fun way to mix form with function. Let’s see what you’ve got!
We’re back with challenge #2! If you need a refresher about our plans for the day, be sure to check out our 9 AM challenge HERE.
Challenge 2: DIE-NAMICS DESIGNS
Our noon challenge is all about die cutting. Put your stamps and inks away for a bit because you won’t be needing them for this challenge. Create a card that features 100% die cutting for a chance to win our noon prize.
We love stamping and die cutting equally…it’s fun to focus on just one of them occasionally! We can’t wait to see where your Die-namics lead your next card.

Challenge 1: ROYGBIV
Let’s kick the day off with COLOR. Your first challenge of the day is to create a card featuring the rainbow — either a literal rainbow or, by simply integrating the colors of the rainbow into your design in any way you see fit.
Are you inspired to play with color? Rainbows are always a good choice. Link below to enter your card in our random giveaway. Enjoy your day and happy crafting!
