A Note from Kim

Eleven years ago, I had a dream. It seemed impossibly huge at the time and yet, we’ve far surpassed anything I could have imagined when I first completed that business license application in July 2006.

Every year around this time, I get a bit nostalgic about how far MFT has come in the past eleven years. I’ve talked before about the evolution of our physical space, team size, and product catalog, the story of My Favorite Things, and some of my favorite moments in MFT history. Last year, I shared our story in this video. I marvel every year over the new products we’ve created, new friends we’ve made, and new growth we’ve experienced. It’s been an incredible journey.

Today, in honor of yet another year around the sun with my MFT baby, Jody and I will be hosting an MFT Insiders chat on Facebook at 10:30 AM EDT. We have some fun things planned, and of course, a few tricks up our sleeves so set an alarm and join us on our MFT Facebook page. We can’t wait to catch up with you.

From all of us at MFT, thank you for joining us on this crazy-wonderful journey.

Don’t Miss Out: No-Line Coloring Artist Jane Allen Is Coming Back!

Jane Allen’s April class at our Eustis FL boutique received RAVE reviews. We had so many of you request that we have her back and finally, we get to share the upcoming dates for her next trip across the pond. Mark your calendar now for these mid-October dates — Jane’s traveling all the way from the UK just for you!

If the past is any indication, we expect these dates to fill quickly so reserve your spot quickly. If you yearn to learn about creating realistic texture and dimension on your stamped images, this is the class for you. We are so excited to delve into the subject of hair and skin — you’ll acquire new Copic coloring skills in this technique-based class.

Here is a small sampling of some of the projects Jane has created in the past:

The schedule for each class day is as follows:

Morning Session – 9 AM – 12 PM

Lunch Break – 12 PM – 2 PM

Afternoon Session – 2 PM – 5 PM

During the morning session, Jane will be teaching us basic techniques of no-line coloring. The afternoon session will culminate in the grand finale of implementing the techniques you’ve learned to create a masterpiece.

The class is $75 — Each day of class will include 6 hours of instruction, and will be identical in content. You simply need to register for the class day that best suits your schedule.

You will need to bring adhesive and the required Copics to class with you. The Copic list will be provided at a later date, with ample time to purchase markers.

PLEASE NOTE: Each class will accommodate a maximum of 30 students and we expect both classes to sell out quickly. Classes must be pre-paid and due to the limited seating availability and special nature of this event, no refunds will be given if you are not able to attend.
