Our cross-stitch products have been a hit, in part because in addition to a wide assortment of pre-planned patterns we’ve provided, they’re also a blank canvas just waiting for your own inspired patterns. If you’re in the mood to be crafty but just want to cozy up under a blanket in front of the TV while you’re at it, this is the perfect solution! Once the cross-stitch is done, the card comes together in minutes. Rachel’s pretty posey was created with our Floral Patterns PDF found HERE.

Just Add Color: April 2018

We so enjoy our Release Countdown each month – our team never fails to inspire us and we love seeing your enthusiasm and reading your ideas for using the new collection. We want to extend that excitement past release night with even more opportunities for the designers to blow us away with their creativity and ingenuity.

We start TODAY with Just Add Color. So many of our stamp sets feature images that invite color — from markers and pencils to watercolors, our designers are itching to show off their coloring prowess and innovative techniques.

Handmade card from Torico featuring products from My Favorite Things #mftstamps

Torico’s take on our Just Add Color challenge this month is so unique and beautiful! Her soft pinky-peach monochromatic palette evokes a charming storybook feel. It’s a much different look from most of the samples we’ve seen with this Birdie Brown set so it really stands out! The soft color wash look is such a great choice for this rainy day image!

Handmade card from Joy Taylor featuring products from My Favorite Things #mftstamps

Joy also took a monochromatic approach. Her too-cute turtle is rendered in shades of grey — that allows her rainbow, showcased in a peek-a-boo window, to share equal footing while still complementing her theme…he’s not feeling his best right now but when he’s on the mend, I’m sure he’ll return to his vibrant self!

In addition to Just Add Color, we have our first release class video for our April Release. Color can be added to your projects in many ways…including adding color to your envelopes! Our new Envelope Buddy Stencil provides the ability to add perfectly straight, perfectly spaced address information to your envelopes leaving room to create a sweet little scene to color. You can use it for masking to add spot color to your envelopes as well — talk about creating a complete package!

Hits & Highlights

What’s your pattern passion? Whether dots, stripes, or florals, we have you covered with our collection of patterned paper packs. This month, we’ve challenged our designers to work their magic with a specific group of them — it’s all about the pastels! Check out how these soft MFT colors have been worked into a variety of beautiful projects from the team.

Check out how Vika continues her Tiny Hearts pattern by aligning two die-cut mats just so. Since our patterns are coordinated with twelve different color options, you have the ability to seamlessly mix and match to customize each project — extending your pattern with a contrasting color is a great way to add interest without detracting from your focal point elements!

Handmade card from Melania Deasy featuring products from My Favorite Things #mftstamps

I think our color palette and the season inspired both of our designers to think spring and include adorable bunny imagery in their challenge looks. While Vika went with the latest design from Birdie Brown, Melania pulled out the previously released Beach Bunnies set for her pastel perfection. Using subtle patterns like our Graphic Grid to die cut scene elements is such a fun way to integrate pattern into your projects.

Release Replay: March 2018

Today our team is taking a fresh look at our most recent release with inspiring ideas and innovative takes on the complete collection. We love the opportunity to look at our products with fresh eyes, envisioning entirely new ways to showcase the possibilities they present. We can’t wait to share our ideas with you!

Handmade card from Francine Vuilleme featuring products from My Favorite Things #mftstamps #happybirthday

Basic shapes are so incredibly versatile. Build patterns, use them for unique scene-building elements, or create simple layering pieces to highlight different card elements. Francine has combined die-cut triangles with blended ink triangles to create a masterful showcase for a straightforward stamped sentiment.

A variety of sizes are included in both the STAX and stencil versions of triangles so the possibilities are only limited by your imagination. Die cut some simple shapes in a variety of sizes and push them around on your card to create an endless array of designs.

Handmade card from Vika Salmina featuring products from My Favorite Things #mftstamps #smile

Bold die-cut words provide a fun opportunity for integrating a sentiment into your scene. Vika used our newest Free with $60 Die-namics to create a perch for two bubble-blowing bunnies.

Think about how you can use words, stamped, or die cut, as a means to create interactive scene elements for your characters.Try using masking to allow critters to peek from “behind” stamped words or use characters to replace letters in your greeting!

Hits & Highlights

Finding a way to integrate a greeting and design element into one fabulous card element is easy-as-pie with our collection of word circle frames. These frames can be used as a simple layering component, or combined with our Circle Shaker Pouches for extra fun! We may be a bit biased but we think our designers are among the best around and we know you’ll be inspired by all the ways they’ve discovered to incorporate this versatile line of Die-namics into their looks.

Handmade card from Laurie Willison featuring products from My Favorite Things #mftstamps

Laurie created a simple but effective design that features beautiful pops of color but uses only white card stock. Coloring each letter of her Happy Birthday Circle Frame results in a festive look with minimal effort.

Handmade card from Torico featuring products from My Favorite Things #mftstamps

Torico created a shaker element with the Congratulations Circle Frame to add movement and excitement to her extreme skiing bear. Creating a dynamic stenciled radial background highlights the frame even more.

Stitched with Love — Saint Patrick’s Day

You don’t need to be Irish to wear a bit o’ the green and take part in the fun tradition of Saint Patrick’s Day. If you have a sneaky leprechaun that likes to surprise people with little treats for the holiday, a hand-crafted card or tag provides a great finishing touch. We’re having a lot of fun conceiving new pattern ideas to use with our Cross-Stitch Tag Die-namics and the prospect of rainbows and four-leaf clovers was too good to pass up! Our team, as always, is on-board as well and they have plenty of inspiration to share with our newest cross-stitch pattern collection…good luck resisting this colorful quartet of designs!

Handmade tags from Julie Dinn featuring products from My Favorite Things #mftstamps #stpatricksday

Julie topped a trio of holiday-themed pencils with her handmade tags. The bold pop of pattern she added with toppers die cut from the Black & White Stripes Paper Pack provides contrast and stability.

Handmade tag from Karolyn Loncon featuring products from My Favorite Things #mftstamps #stpatricksday

Karolyn’s pot-of-gold tag comes with an actual pot of gold! Her thread choices — metallic thread for the gold and a rainbow of colors shooting from the top — stand out against the soft blue background and substituting a cloud edge topper reinforces the theme even more.

Release Replay: February 2018

Today our team is taking a fresh look at our most recent release with inspiring ideas and innovative takes on the complete collection. We love the opportunity to look at our products with fresh eyes, envisioning entirely new ways to showcase the possibilities they present. We can’t wait to share our ideas with you!

For this replay, we’re featuring two different ways to incorporate the Magical Mandala Die-namics into your crafting.

Handmade card from Torico featuring products from My Favorite Things #mftstamps

Torico’s passion for pastels highlights the stunning intricacy of the Magical Mandala. A simple white die cut has been elevated to incredible heights thanks to her deft coloring abilities. Grab your markers and get busy!

Try highlighting simply colored sections of your background with gel pen dots – it’s an easy way to customize your look even further!

Handmade gift box from Inge Groot featuring products from My Favorite Things #mftstamps

While Torico’s mandala takes center stage, Inge has expertly used hers as a layering piece — it acts almost as a doily to back her simple but sweet scene.

If coloring isn’t your thing or time is of the essence, stick with basic stamping but mix up your card stock choices for variety!
