Creative Construction with Blueprints – Birthday Tags

MFT_CreativeConstruction_SideBar

We love Blueprints because they take the guesswork out of crafting beautiful cards in quick fashion when we’re short on time or inspiration. We also love them for their versatility and ability to be mixed and matched when we have the time and inspiration to create something truly unique. Our Creative Construction Challenge focuses on these attributes each month, challenging the team to either assemble a card based on one of the provided Blueprints sketches or design an original card combining elements from the featured Blueprints.

Did you know you can find ALL of our printable Blueprints sketches in one spot? Our Printable Resources section over there in the sidebar is packed with handy reference materials including Blueprints.

With five different Tag Builder Blueprints in our ever-expanding collection, as well as the numerous tags included in our traditional Blueprints series, constructing tags to adorn birthday cards and gifts has never been easier. This month, we challenged the team to craft tags designed to celebrate the occasion we all love to craft for with designs that will be as cherished as the gift itself.

Handmade tags from Torico featuring Birdie Brown Hog Heaven stamp set and DIe-namics, Lisa Johnson Designs Celebrate with Cake stamp set, Birthday Balloons and Tag Builder Blueprints 5 Die-namics #mftstamps

Torico’s trio of tags is sweet as can be with gingham, flowers, cupcakes, and those cuties from the Hog Heaven stamp set! Tag Builder Blueprints 5 Die-namics makes it simple to create cute tags with a lot of interest. You can easily inlay patterned paper and add colorful accents like the hole reinforcer to your design. The foldable sentiment flag adds dimension and interest to top off your terrific birthday tags.

Handmade tags from Donna Mikasa featuring Funky Flowers stamp set and Die-namics, Laina Lamb Design Sweet Succulents stamp set, Whimsical Woodgrain Background stamp, and Tag Builder Blueprints 5 Die-namics #mftstamps

Donna’s use of Tag Builder Blueprints 5 Die-namics results in three pretty tags. She keeps the basics of the tag monochromatic, and then adds subtle sophistication with the Funky Flowers stamp set and Die-namics. The touches of gold make these tags hand-crafted treasures.

Our Printable Resources section over there in the sidebar is packed with handy reference materials including Blueprints. A well-placed button can impart beautiful tactile interest to your paper projects. When you have the ability to die cut your buttons from a host of cool colors, the possibilities are limitless. Our team has shared their considerable talents this month to create projects ranging from romantic to bold & graphic – each featuring Blueprints that include button elements.

Handmade card from Barbara Anders featuring Blueprints Die-namics #mftstamps

Barbara’s colorful row of buttons mirrors the curve she’s created with the Stitched Snow Drifts Die-namics. A beautifully inked die-cut word adds the perfect bit of pop to her sentiment while a thin strip of polka dot paper delineates the curve.

Handmade card from Julie Dinn featuring Blueprints Die-namics #mftstamps

Julie has created dimension by layering up a bevy of die-cut buttons. Adding hemp cord to the final layer of buttons finished the look off to perfection. Her button border also creates the perfect division between two decidedly different patterns.
