There is so much to be inspired by in Sharon’s seasonal trio! How about those coasters she created by layering circles die cut with the Stitchable Dot Circle STAX over a die-cut piece from Circle STAX Set 1? Or the Spider Web Cover-Up she trimmed to fit? And the pumpkin, oh the pumpkin! That was created with the Red Delicious Die-namics. Everything is done in durable felt so these projects can be used and enjoyed year after year.

An Inky Twist on a Classic Technique

Watercolor is a medium that’s been around forever but is experiencing a resurgence in popularity in the crafting, card-making, and scrapbooking world. This month, our team will show you a variety of ways to achieve the look with stamps, stencils, and inks.

Three colors of Hybrid Ink blend beautifully to highlight layered columns of happy hexagons. Keisha created a delicate balance by placing the hexagons assembly slightly left of center, centering the greeting, and pushing the butterfly further right.

Our Creative Team is chock full of ideas of incorporating the watercolor look into your projects so grab your MFT inks, stamps, Die-namics, and stencils and start clicking for inspiration overload.

Improving on Pattern Perfection

Classic patterns never go out of style, but thanks to the plethora of designs we offer, your projects will never feel dated. Join our designers as they inspire you with trendy and innovative projects centered on the pinnacle of patterns: the time-honored stripe.

July2014CC1

Inge combined horizontally stamped stripes with tone-on-tone texture. Centrally layered die-cut elements, including a washi tape strip cut from Blueprints 13, reinforces the horizontal theme. Layer upon layer of die cuts and embellishments adds interest, color, and dimension for a gorgeous finished project that would work equally well for men, women, and children.

Getting Inky Hybrid Style

With the introduction of our Hybrid Inks a couple of months ago, a whole new world of stamping techniques opened up. This month, we’ve challenged our team of talented designers to blow us away with ink techniques featuring the rainbow of colors our Hybrid line offers.

RoseTile-SH

Sharon used the new Hybrid Inks on 4 x 4″ unglazed tumbled tiles to create personalized, monogrammed drink coasters. These tiles aren’t sealed so that they can absorb moisture from glasses that are set on them and still, there is no running or smearing. Think of all of the beautiful custom decor options this opens up. I know your wheels are spinning but this is just the beginning!

Crafting for the Men in Your Life

All too often, the boys and men in our life get lost in the shuffle when it comes to handmade cards and gifts. With Father’s Day approaching, we couldn’t think of a better time to get in touch with our masculine side. This month, we’ve challenged the team to create cards and projects suitable for the males you know and love.

AR CC1

Nothing says “I love you” like manly woodgrain, a neutral color scheme, and bacon (well, pre-bacon…at least until you open the card ;)) Amy’s fun take on this month’s Creative Team Challenge is sure to please the men in your life. A sentiment and image stamped in Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink on Black Licorice Card Stock perfectly mimics the trendy chalkboard look while a tiny red heart finishes the card off.

You do want to see the inside too though, right? So FUN.

Jazz Up Your Blooms

All of the rain we endured last month is about to pay off in a big way! May is going to bloom with a gorgeous assortment of flowers that have been primped and polished with pattern and texture by the talented MFT Design Team. We have so many fantastic flower Die-namics in the MFT shop. Some are flat; others are meant to be rolled to add incredible realism and dimension to your projects. They’re all beautiful on their own but if you’re looking to jazz them up a bit, this month’s Creative Team Challenge should be just the inspiration you’re looking for.

Royal-Texty-Roses

This gorgeous card from Joanne features some texty blooms. Simply stamp your card stock with your pattern before die cutting – instant eye-appeal! She based her design on one of the Blueprint designs included with Blueprints 13 set – such an easy way to design your next project!

Creative Stenciling Techniques Unmasked

Stencils are one of the most economical and versatile products on the market today and this month, we’ve challenged our design team to get creative with them so you can make the most out of your own stencil collection! After you see how our team uses paints, sprays, mists, and inks to airbrush, sponge, mask, and emboss, you’ll look at your stencils with brand new eyes.

Febr2014CC2

Inge created a gorgeous tone on tone textural background using embossing paste with our On The Diagonal Stencil. A delicate layered butterfly from the Fancy Butterflies Die-namics floats across the card front to finish off this very happy card loaded with fantastic details.

Let Me Spell It Out For You

Alphabet stamps and Die-namics are some of the most functional products around. When you use stamps and dies to create your letters, you never have to worry about running out of a high-demand letter before finishing your project. This month, we challenged our Design Team to create a custom sentiment or personalized addition to a card, scrapbook page, decor item, or gift project (and none of them ran out of that coveted “e” before finishing the job!)

Adopt-6-mos

Joanne used two sets of alphabet Die-namics to customize this layout of her sweet pup. His name, age, and a message to “adopt” – which just so happens to fit *perfectly* on the Cute Cameras 2 + Precious Polaroids Die-namics combo – were all done to match the design and color scheme she chose for the layout. That face is pretty irresistible!

Now it’s your turn to create something special – personalize a card, or a sign for your child’s bedroom; a notebook or a planner. There are so many projects that would benefit from a little name recognition! But first, take a look at all of the inspiring personalized projects our Design Team has created. Then make something all your own.

Make it a Banner Year

As December winds down and the holiday season begins its soft, warm fade, we turn our thoughts to what’s next on the horizon. Perhaps for you, it’s the revelry of the new year. Or maybe it’s Valentine’s Day, Easter, or a family birthday. One way to welcome 2014, or any other special occasion, is a festive banner. Amy’s beautiful name banner would work wonderfully for a birthday or simply to add some personalized whimsy to a bedroom.
