Handmade card from Francine Vuilleme featuring products from My Favorite Things #mftstamps

“Paisley” might not be your first thought when you think about Halloween crafting but now that you’ve seen Francine’s look pairing the new Birdie Brown Fab-BOO-lous Friends with a ghosted background created with the Bold Paisley Stencil, you might change your mind.

How often do you start a card with a black base? If you want to create a bold look that will make colored die cuts pop, consider giving black a try (also, those paisley ghosts look amazing on black!)

Handmade card from Melania Deasy featuring products from My Favorite Things #mftstamps

Melania has made More Monsters the stars on this card. Pretty pastels are an unexpected color choice for these cheery creatures but what an unforgettable impression they make.

Frames, STAX, and Blueprints elements are great for creating layering pieces for your projects. Using the resulting negative trimmed to card size creates a beautiful framing option as well though…let no piece go to waste!)

Creative Construction with Blueprints – Make it Masculine

MFT_CreativeConstruction_SideBar

We love Blueprints because they take the guesswork out of crafting beautiful cards (and tags!) in quick fashion when we’re short on time or inspiration. We also love them for their versatility and ability to be mixed and matched when we have the time and inspiration to create something truly unique. Our Creative Construction Challenge focuses on these attributes each month, challenging the team to either assemble a card based on one of the provided Blueprints sketches or design an original design combining elements from the featured Blueprints.

Did you know you can find ALL of our printable Blueprints sketches in one spot? Our Printable Resources section over there in the sidebar is packed with handy reference materials including Blueprints.

Fathers, husbands, sons, and brothers – don’t forget that the men in your life appreciate your hand-crafted creations too! This month, we’re celebrating them with masculine cards featuring Blueprints elements.

Handmade card from Jodi Collins featuring products from My Favorite Things #mftstamps

Jodi’s choice of Get Down to Business is decidedly masculine but that’s not the only way she’s created a strong look. Her peek-a-boo panel from Blueprints 22 is a bold backdrop in After Midnight and her patterned paper choice is solid, graphic, and in yellow and green — a perfect tie-in to her stamped and die cut images.

Handmade card from Karolyn Loncon featuring products from My Favorite Things #mftstamps

The men in your life love interactive cards as well! Create a scene your anchor will adore by die cutting a semi-circle window using Blueprints 21 before blending a stunning sunset.

Today our team is taking a fresh look at our most recent release with inspiring ideas and innovative takes on the complete collection. We love the opportunity to look at our products with fresh eyes, envisioning entirely new ways to showcase the possibilities they present. We can’t wait to share our ideas with you!

Handmade card from Joy Taylor featuring products from My Favorite Things #mftstamps

Ocean Pals features adorable two-step aquatic animals that pair perfectly with the plants in our previously released Exquisite Ocean set. We’re so inspired by the blended ink panel that Joy created before die-cutting and layering a stitched frame to highlight her scene.

Stamp and heat emboss elements on vellum – the transparency of the vellum creates a feeling of lightness to the element while the heat-embossing still provides visual weight.

Handmade card from Donna Mikasa featuring products from My Favorite Things #mftstamps

This camouflaged sentiment look Donna created with our current Free with $60 Die-namics is so versatile. It’s a fantastic way of preserving the look of the background you’ve created while still conveying your message.

Stencils are truly one of the hardest-working tools you have in your collection. This beautiful masking technique adds so much depth and implied texture to Donna’s thank you card.

Flowers and leaves always add elegance and an inviting organic feel to your projects. Whether you build a bouquet of beautiful blooms or feature a single standout blossom, your recipient will be touched by your effort. Many of our Blueprints Die-namics feature floral accents and this month, our team has crafted a bevy of looks to inspire your next project.

Handmade card from Donna Mikasa featuring products from My Favorite Things #mftstamps

Soft neutrals and subtle patterns are a pretty pairing for Donna’s card featuring Blueprints 14. Her floral cluster provides a nice balance to her sentiment.

Handmade card from Inge Groot featuring products from My Favorite Things #mftstamps

I love the contrast between Donna’s and Inge’s card. Both feature elements from the same Blueprints set, as well as a version of “thanks” but the results are starkly different. Inge’s look is bold and graphic where Donna’s is soft and homey. Both are absolutely beautiful though!

We love the opportunity to look at our products with fresh eyes, envisioning entirely new ways to showcase the possibilities they present. We can’t wait to share our ideas with you!

Seaside Seagulls and the Cloud Stencil have been immensely popular products from our newest release. Torico has combined them, along with some classic patterns from a couple of our paper packs, to create this sweet, sweet, sweet look.

Creative Construction with Blueprints – Come as You Are

Mixing and matching Blueprints elements is such an appealing way of creating something new and exciting. Sometimes though, you need a card and you need it in a hurry…enter Blueprints sketches. Every new Blueprints release includes a quartet of sketches featuring the elements. You choose the papers and stamps to coordinate but the design is done for you – easy peasy! Join our team this month as they interpret Blueprints sketches and make them their own.

Handmade card from Inge Groot featuring products from My Favorite Things #mftstamps

Blueprints 19 is extra fun as it’s one of our square-based collections. The bracketed frame adds tons of interest while the tabs and shapes accessories provide lots of different accent options. Inge added a trendy brush-script sentiment and grays and greens to complete her fresh look.

Handmade card from Jodi Collins featuring products from My Favorite Things #mftstamps

Jodi’s sassy look is paired with a sweet sentiment. I love how she integrated the pattern into her Blueprints 12 look – it’s a great way to amp up the large panel included in the sketch!

We love the opportunity to look at our products with fresh eyes, envisioning entirely new ways to showcase the possibilities they present. We can’t wait to share our ideas with you!

Handmade card from Donna Mikasa featuring the April 2017 Release from My Favorite Things #mftstamps

Four-Legged Friends are ready to party on Donna’s festive card! Polka dots always steal the show in the best way possible – black and white lets her color choices shine while the dots reinforce the design on her accented party hats.

Look at the accents included in your stamp collection to see how they can be paired with characters from other sets. The party hats from Beary Special Birthday were the perfect way to help Four-Legged Friends get party-ready in a flash.

Handmade card from Joy Taylor featuring the April 2017 Release from My Favorite Things #mftstamps

Joy’s adorable scene includes a trio of sweet characters from the Springtime Critters set. The endearing sentiment she chose and smattering of sequins provide the perfect finishing touches

Creative Construction with Blueprints – Scallops, Scallops Everywhere

MFT_CreativeConstruction_SideBar

We love Blueprints because they take the guesswork out of crafting beautiful cards (and tags!) in quick fashion when we’re short on time or inspiration. Dainty, delicate scallops add femininity and softness to your creations. Our collection of Blueprints includes so many scallop options – from panels detailed by a perimeter of scallops, to edge-only dies that allow you to create panels of any size, you’ll find the perfect finishing touch for any project. Join our team this month as they share some of their own scalloped projects.

Handmade card from Keisha Campbell featuring products from My Favorite Things #mftstamps

I love the impact of Keisha’s large scalloped panel, from Blueprints 1, combined with a punch of pattern from the Mini Hexagon Background. She has such a way with unexpected color combos that just work and that expanse of black and white she’s created is a perfect foil.

Handmade card from Karolyn Loncon featuring products from My Favorite Things #mftstamps

Dainty scallops and a diminutive pink check are kind of perfect for a baby girl card. Karolyn has used Blueprints 1 for her card as well but she’s cut a rectangle from the center creating a frame for her sparkly pink rattle. I love the idea of adding a sentiment inside the rattle – so fun!
