The Cloudy Day Stencil provided the perfect guide for adding some fluffy white clouds to a brilliant Blu Raspberry sky on Amy’s card. Cheer someone up with the Blue Skies Ahead stamp set paired with the incredibly fun and realistic Layered Umbrella Die-namics.

Cindy took a different approach choosing to focus on the more neutral colors and adding bright pops of color in her choice of sentiment and accent colors. The On the Diagonal Background stamp will quickly become a favorite thanks to its versatility and playfulness.

Our palette this month features Natural, Razzle Berry, Blu Raspberry, and Gumdrop Green. Play up the Razzle Berry for a flirty feminine card or focus on Blu Raspberry and Gumdrop Green with the tiniest pop of trendy Razzle Berry for a more masculine look. Either way, paired with natural, you have the beginnings of an eye-catching card. The April Paint Book Swatch is below – print and save every month’s swatch for instant color inspiration any month of the year!

It’s time to do a check in on Color Palette Challenge 3 projects. Our Kraft, Grapesicle, Berrylicious, and Sour Apple palette is a great jumping off point for happy, springy projects. Let’s take a closer look at what our design team has been inspired to create with the combo.

Debbie used the Floral Fusion Cover-Up Die-namics to cut a panel from all four of our colors this month, and then pieced it back together like a puzzle…relaxing process with a lovely result.

MARCH MFT I'm All Ears

Jodi created a color-blocked card with a Pure Innocence I’m All Ears image. She brought the Sour Apple into the mix with a twine tied button.

Lots of layers and a sweet ride make Inge’s card a standout. The Bicycle Die-namics will bring out the road warrior within…ready to hit the pavement this spring!

Cindy’s card sports the same combination of colors but stamped on kraft, the result is completely unique. Sunny Day Doodles Spring Has Sprung is perfect for seasonal projects like this one.

Bright and cheery with a mix of patterns was Mona’s choice for this challenge. Are you LOVING that Wood Plank Background? We’re obsessed.

Color Palette Challenge Review

Print

It’s been two weeks now since we issued our premier Color Palette Challenge. We thought it might be fun to check in, see how you all are doing, and look at some of the gorgeous work that’s been submitted thus far. Do you need a reminder what colors the palette included? Simply look to the graphic! Our MFT classic Sweet Tooth, Pink Lemonade, Bubblegum, and Black Licorice combo seemed the most appropriate choice for this challenge’s maiden voyage. Ready to be inspired? Let’s see what our Design Team has been up to.

MFT_Jan_Countdown5

Karen kept it sweet and simple with the Precious Polaroids Die-namics and Picture This stamp set as the stars.

Sunny-Day-Doodles-Love-It-1---OHS

You’ll notice that Cindy and Karen had the same idea to use the Patterned Triangles Background stamp to create a tone-on-tone look; the end product is totally different though! The Celebrate Big and Sunny Day Doodles Love It stamp sets play a prominent role in Cindy’s window card.

MFTCPC1_2014jan2

Barbara decided some shimmer and shine were in order for her glitzy design. The subtle emboss pattern is courtesy of the Petal Circles Stencil while the sentiment is from our new Lots of Love Die-namics. Do you see how she cleverly created it by using just the “u” from one of the sans serif words?

MFTCPC1

Julie’s design is a great example of taking this challenge and flipping it on its head. While most of our Design Team, and most of you, chose pink as the dominant color, Julie went with bold black.  The Staggered Heart Border Die-namics brings in a hint of pink and that lovely stamped sentiment from the Love Story set stands gorgeously stark against the black mat.

We hope you’re inspired to tackle the challenge yourself! We love seeing projects as amazingly varied as all of you being linked up. Don’t forget that you have until noon on February 5 to share your own Color Palette Challenge projects. Just a reminder: one of the challenge participants will win a Gift Voucher to the MFT boutique valued at up to $20!

Stamp and Win with This Month’s Color Palette Challenge 1

Life is too short to be anything but colorful.

That’s why we’re introducing a new, regular challenge to the MFT blog! The Color Palette Challenge will be introduced on the first Thursday of each month. You’ll have until the following challenge to participate and upload your card. Just like our Weekly Card Sketch Challenge, each Color Palette Challenge will be another opportunity to win a Gift Voucher to the MFT Online Boutique. We hope you’ll enjoy playing along with this challenge just as much as you do the Card Sketch Challenge.

For our first ever Color Palette Challenge, we opted to go with a classic, MFT color scheme. Pink, extra pink, black and white. Or, in MFT vernacular, Pink Lemonade, Bubblegum, Black Licorice and Sweet Tooth! We’re excited to see all of your interpretations of this palette – it holds a very special place in our heart.
