Musical Birthday Greeting from Amy Rysavy

Hello everyone! AmyR here from Prairie Paper & Ink, and I’m excited to be a guest designer for MFT again today!

I absolutely love My Favorite Things February Release (when do I not love any of MFT’s releases?) and had the hardest time choosing which products to use for my card today. I have a soft spot for MFT sentiment Die-namics and LOVE making shaker cards with them so I really wanted to create something fun with the new Big Birthday Die-namics.

The bonus of making the shaker card was being able to take the letters and create a clean and simple card at the same time. Basically a two-for-one and all that was needed was a second card base.

I used the Musical Notes Background and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder onto some Bristol Smooth card stock. I then pulled out my three favorite Distress Inks (Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed, and Mermaid Lagoon) and blended them over the card stock. The heat embossed music notes resisted the ink and by blending the colors together I end up with a rainbow effect!

I used the A2 Stitched Rectangle Stax Set 1 to die cut the panel and the Big Birthday Die-namics. I backed the panel with clear acetate and used a double layer of foam tape for my shaker. I filled it with a variety of white and clear sequins and adhered it to my card base.

For my “clean and simple” card I adhered the letters from the Big Birthday Die-namics onto a white card base, and then added a few of the same smaller sequins I used in the shaker card.

On the insides of the cards I used the Anything-but-Basic Birthday Wishes stamp set and inked up the sentiments with the same three Distress Inks before stamping them on the inside of the cards and that was it!

Thanks so much for joining me today and thank you MFT for inviting me!!

Love the rainbow your ink blending created and I think making a shaker with the sentiment die is an awesome idea!
