Welcome to the Hop Around the Block!
Hi all! I’ve got lots to show you today as we kick off the January Release with our Hop Around the Block! I’m your first stop, then you’ll make your way to Amber’s Blog, and she will direct you to the next stop. And so on, and so on, and so on, until you reach your MFT Pot ‘O Gold at the end of the hop. Our release party is tonight at 9pm EASTERN, in our FORUM, and the sets will be released at 10pm EST tonight as well. We hope you’ll pop by for chatting and teasers as we count down the minutes to the new sets!

Whew! I wasn’t joking when I said LOTS of new stuff!
The first card, above, uses Valentine Flopsey, and the Hearts Paper from the Spring Collection. It also uses the Pink Twill from the Spring Brights ribbon collection, and one of the Heidi Swapp Ghost Shapes as well. I watercolored him in, and then colored the inside of his heart with Shimmerz before stamping the sentiment. And isn’t that the sweetest sentiment ever??? I think it was Jody’s brainchild…genius…
This second card features An Owl for All Seasons, and I have to say I love the simplicity of this card! What a breeze to leave the main image without color! I added a strip of the striped paper from the Spring Collection, and then colored my white shimmer flowers with Shimmerz to add a pop of color.
I discovered a few weeks back that I could actually paint my white shimmer flowers with Shimmerz, and would then have any color flower I wanted! It only takes a few minutes to dry, and shockingly it doesn’t make the flower stiff. The best part is that it doesn’t look colored, ykwim??
You can really see in this picture how the flowers look like they were always these colors and not the white they were a few minutes before this photo!

Your card is so adorable! I love the bunny, and I’m really fond of owls too (my mom has collected owl trinkets forever!)…the painted flowers are amazing! TFS that idea!
