MFT New Product Tour

Welcome to the My Favorite Things New Product Tour.  All of the new Die-namics and Stamp Sets you’ve seen over the last 7 days of Teasers are now available HERE in the MFT Boutique!

I am just loving the new products for May!  Can you tell? I was so excited to work with Chalkboard Greetings, and of course wanted to create a chalkboard art card.  I cut my Vertical Frame once from wood veneer and then again in Steel Grey.  I stamped and embossed my sentiment on the Steel Grey card stock, and then used a sponge dauber to add white pigment ink to achieve the effect.  Once that was dry I added a swirl (brave, aren’t I?) with my white colored pencil, and then played around for probably 30 mins trying to figure out what would work well in the space between “good” and “day”.  I seriously tried  4 or 5 different things and then VOILA! Remembered we had an itty bitty sun in the Notched Tag Die-namics.  I love it when I realize I have exactly what I need.  I used Lemon Drop card stock to cut out my sun and popped it up on the main panel. Once I’d settled that debate, I cut a Chicken Wire Die-namics panel from Steel Grey card stock and then cut it to make a partial panel and adhered it to my card front using a Quickie Glue Pen.  Then I added two Lemon Drop buttons, threaded of course, and my card was complete.

I hope you’ve enjoyed the amazing work our Designers have created for you, I know I’m inspired and can’t wait to get back in my craft room!

For one last look at all the new products in action, we invite you to go on our New Product Tour by clicking each of the designer’s blog links below.

Since we want to make things as easy as possible for you, here is our May Shopping List.

Since we know your wish list grows every month, we are offering the chance to win a $75 Prize for use in the MFT Online Boutique on each of our 7 Teaser Days.

  • You can enter to win by leaving a comment on each of the seven teaser posts on the MFT Blog before Noon TODAY.  Only one comment per person, per day, please.
  • One winner will be randomly selected from each day, and the winners will be announced TONIGHT at 8PM EST on the MFT Blog.
Today we are introducing the newest set in the Laina Lamb Design line, Document It – Right on Target.  You will enjoy the fun mixed-font sentiments and coordinating images in this set.

Our new Accent It – Feathers and Arrows Die-namics was made to coordinate with the new Document It – Right on Target stamp set.

You can see a quick video featuring the Accent It – Feathers and Arrows Die-namics HERE, or simply click play below.

Our new Insert It – 3×4 Notepad Die-namics has a notebook edge with functional perforation marks that can be easily torn like a real notepad. It coordinates perfectly with the previously released Journal It – For the Record, Journal It – Graph Paper Notes, and Journal It – Library Card.

Our last stamp set introduction today is the adorable new Pure Innocence Farmer Girl.

The last of our new MIX-ables Stencils this month is the new Mini Chicken Wire Stencil. Paint, mist, spray, & more to create fun patterns on your cards and scrapbook pages.

We’ve got one more new color that we’re adding to our Premium Dye Ink collection this month. Our new Berrylicious Premium Dye Ink will be available as a full-sized pad and as a refill during our May Release. The Premium Dye Ink and Refill will join the Berrylicious Replenishments that are already available in the MFT Boutique.

As soon as I saw Document It – Right on Target I had this idea.  I LOVE how this card turned out!  It’s super simple, but just clever enough to make me smile.  Don’t you love it when that happens?  I used the Blueprints 3 square main panel to begin with (surprise!) and then matted it with Black Licorice and added them to a Kraft background.  I stamped the sentiment using our Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink.  I then cut a small shape from Heart STAX and stamped the image from Right on Target in Wild Cherry ink.   I cut the Kraft arrow into two pieces and attach half to the back of the heart, and half to the front of the heart, and then added a crystal on top of the attachment.  LOVE this card.  And hopefully the person I created it for will too!

I hope you’ll enjoy hopping around the rest of our Designers blogs and see you TONIGHT for the RELEASE!

We have one more set to debut from Lisa Johnson Designs today, Cheerful Blessings. You will love the mix of fonts in this cheerful and uplifting sentiment set.

The new Heirloom Label Die-namics is a great size for any of our larger sentiments, but also works perfectly as a layering element on your cards or projects.

You can see a quick video featuring the Heirloom Label Die-namics HERE, or simply click play below.

I’m back today with a card made using the new Heirloom Label Die-namics, Cheerful Blessings, Distressed Backgrounds, Dandelion Wishes, and of course, Blueprints 3. :-) I am seriously grabbing this new Blueprints for everything. At least I’m consistent!

I wanted to create a soft background using Distressed Backgrounds, and created the effect by stamping off the image twice on scrap paper before stamping it on my Heirloom Label Die-namics using Lemon Drop ink. Then I stamped the dandelion in Lemon Drop full strength, and stamped the stem off on scrap paper once in Black Licorice before adding it to my main panel. Once everything was stamped, I traced each stem with my glue pen and added a dusting of iridescent glitter to make it *pop*.

I followed one of the Blueprints 3 sketches, substituting in the Heirloom Label Die-namics for the main image panel.  Once everything was assembled, I added a few yellow crystals to finish it off.  I LOVE how it turned out.  Simple, yet elegant, and just waiting for the perfect person to gift it to.

Thanks for joining us today, and don’t forget to leave a comment on the MFT Blog for a chance to win a $75 voucher. And you don’t want to miss what our talented designers have in store for you today either, so make sure to visit them and leave a little love!

Let’s get started!

Our first introduction today is the fantastic new set, Life’s Direction.

We’re thrilled over your enthusiasm for Mona Pendleton’s new line!  We have another set designed by Mona to introduce today called Distressed Background Blocks.  True to Mona’s mixed media style, these background blocks will give your cards and projects that mixed media look with minimal effort.

Our new Chicken Wire Die-namics layers perfectly on a standard A2 card for a big impact. Layer it over or under your card elements for a decorative accent.

You can see a quick video featuring the Chicken Wire Die-namics HERE, or simply click play below.

Our new Happy Hellos Die-namics dies are large enough to take center stage on your projects, but work as an accent, also.

You can see a quick video featuring the new Happy Hellos Die-namics HERE, or simply click play below.

The next stencil in our brand new MIX-ables Stencil series is the fun Graduated Dots.

We’ve added new colors to our Premium Dye Ink collection this month. Our new Red Hot Premium Dye Ink will be available as a full-sized pad and as a refill during our May Release. The Premium Dye Ink and Refill will join the Red Hot Replenishments that are already available in the MFT Boutique.

I knew I liked Life’s Direction when Amy Rohl originally sent the set concept to Jody and I, but I didn’t realize how much I’d enjoy stamping with it! I’ve had so many ideas for this set, and haven’t even begun to scratch the surface. Today I’m sharing the first card I made using this set combined with Western Backgrounds and Fishtail Flags STAX. I made my own speckled paper by following the tutorial Joanne shows in THIS post. How fun!

I started by stamping Western Backgrounds onto Whip Cream card stock using Kraft ink. It almost looks like it’s embossed, the detail is so rich. I cut the same size of Fishtail Flags in 3 different colored card stocks, and then stamped my images using Hot Fudge. I then speckled my paper using Hot Fudge ink as well. There was so much texture going on that I didn’t want to overdo it, but felt it needed a little something, so I added a row of mini brads, and a red star from Star STAX to pick up the red I’d used in the Flags. PERFECT.

Make sure you visit our Designers blogs today, and leave a comment each day on this blog for a chance to win a $75 gift voucher. We could all use a little spending money, right?

We are SO excited to introduce you to a new line of stamps and Die-namics, created by our very own Mona Pendleton. Mona has a style uniquely her own, embracing mixed media and more. It only makes sense that her products are described as Mixed Media for the Modern Crafter.

We know you’ll adore her introductory stamp sets; Dandelion Wishes and Distressed Backgrounds. You’ll appreciate her companion Die-namics, Dandelion Stems and Toppers. BUT WAIT….there’s more! Our new Mix-able Stencils can be used with paints, sprays, mist, and more.  The beautiful stencil we are introducing today is called Square Motif.

Happy Thursday! I am so excited about the release of Mona’s products. Her work is beyond beautiful, and her new line of products are sure to speak to your inner artist. Many of Mona’s projects are mixed media, and always leave me inspired. I *really* want to delve more into this area, so I took a tiny, baby step and created a canvas project. Let me start by saying again that this is a TINY, BABY step. I am not particularly courageous…yet. I’d even be willing to say I am kind of a wimp and was so afraid to go overboard that I did the exact opposite. But yet, I love the finished project, and keep telling myself I did a good job of practicing the Rule of Thirds, and will happily leave it at that. :-)

I started with an 8 x 10″ canvas and covered it with a trio of Gelatos colors. I hadn’t played with them before this project, but they are quite nifty! Once the canvas was colored and dried, I used my Distressed Background stamp set and covered it in Gelatos as well. I then misted it enough to get it wet and applied it to the canvas. When the stamping began, I made sure to support that back of the canvas to I could get a decent impression.

Once the background was dry, I inked up the flower stems from Dandelion Wishes and stamped them in Jellybean Green. Yep, our premium dye ink worked beautifully! Then I stamped both of the dandelion blooms first in Sour Apple and then in Jellybean Green inks. There were a couple of spots that didn’t stamp as clearly as I’d like, so I went over those using a dry paintbrush and the premium inks to fill in the bare spots.

After everything was completely dry, I felt the flower centers needed something so I added a pearlized center after having colored them with a violet Copic marker. I wanted a slight pop of a color that would complement the project, and I think the violet did just that.

I hope you’re enjoying Teasers so far, and are looking forward to being inspired each day by our amazing Designers. Make sure to head to their blogs for more ideas using these beautiful products, and also make sure you leave a comment on the MFT Blog for a chance to win a $75 gift voucher.

Take a tour of the new products, being released on May 7th at 10 PM EST, by visiting our designers listed below.
