Designer Spotlight: Coloring the April Release with Jennifer

Today, we spotlight the beautiful cards created by Design Team member Jennifer Rustioni for the April release. Jennifer's coloring skills are extraordinary. She often uses the stamps as the starting point and creates an entire scene around them. We'll give you the highlights here, but you can find all the details for each card on Jennifer's blog.

The starting point of Jennifer's first card was the new Next To You stamp set from illustrator Stacey Yacula. She began by stamping the foxes, then drew in the rock and surrounding trees and leaves. Her coloring medium of choice was Copic markers, and she added shadows with pastel pencils and highlights with white gel pen.

Jennifer again used the Next to You stamp set for this next card. Along with Copic coloring, she also blended in a bit of ink for this gorgeous creation.

Often Jennifer will choose an image from a stamp set, and color it in the corner of her card. This example is from the Friends Who Fiesta stamp set. She stamped it with white ink on Gravel Gray Card Stock, then colored with pencils, adding cast shadows with a black pastel pencil.

The last card we're spotlighting today features images from the Playful Pups stamp set. She again stamped with a lighter colored ink, this time on No-Line Coloring Card Stock. This enabled her to achieve a no-line coloring look, where the outline of the stamp set's images blend right into her coloring.
